Disney CEO Bob Iger Refuses to Attend Business Executive Forum at White House

Disney CEO Bob Iger, one of the few entertainment industry executives asked to attend President Donald Trump’s policy forum at the White House this week, has refused the invitation.

In December, President Trump described the policy forum being held at the White House as a meeting of “CEOs and business leaders who know what it takes to create jobs and drive economic growth.” The event was organised by Blackstone chairman Stephen A. Schwarzman and Bob Iger was considered one of the more high profile attendees but a source has told The Hollywood Reporter that Iger will not be there.

Many executives from large companies are still scheduled to attend such as SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Uber CEO Travis Kalanick, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon, Walmart CEO Doug McMillon and General Motors CEO Mary Barra. Travis Kalanick of Uber has been attempting to calm recent anger from Uber users over what was perceived as the company’s refusal to participate in an hour long strike organised by New York taxi drivers to protest President Trump’s temporary travel halt.

But this is such fun 8^)

I wrote “The Walt Disney Company has gone full Gay Proggie. Walt’s rolling in his grave.”

Seems you read into it that I’m siding with today’s Disney Corp. You and I interpret rolling in the grave very differently, I guess.

It wasn’t the “rolling in the grave” part. It’s what you put after that.

Regardless. It’s been fun and I certainly hope I you have a great day.

Considering the corrupting influence that Disney promotes in its programing this is no great loss.

Probably mad that the HB-1 visa cuts will cost him his new IT department.

Yeah, I remember that. Diversity is grand if you only exclude actual Americans, don’t you know?

Good. Maybe when Disnmey is trying to purchase another 20-year extension to copyright terms from congress, Trump will remember this, and tell them to stuff it up the mouse’s ass.

Diversity is grand if you only exclude actual Americans...

Especially Anglo hetero Christians. They're excludable on proggie principle.

He’s mad for being called out about firing Disney employees and making them train their foreign replacements. Walt and Roy Disney are turning over in their graves.

need to raise tax on movie, sports, and amusement park tickets. These are voluntary activities and not essential. These taxes would;d not be considered confiscatory like the income tax.

“Uber boss has refused, too. These corporate thugs should pay a price.”

Boycotting exacts a price where it needs to be directly applied.

Ha! Remember the air traffic controllers? Reagan said they did not have the right to disrupt American business..or something to that effect.

I think any CEO should be free to refuse the invitation from Trump. He’s our President, not our dictator. Imagine if this were 0vomit requiring attendance.

The great thing about being a conservative is that I support FREEDOM. That means freedom to refuse to attend. That also means I am free to not buy the propagandist crappy movies, etc., put out by Disney and free to find non-Uber transportation.

What Bob did was just despicable, though what’s to be expected when this is the guy who used the F-word to a shareholder trying to persuasively convince him and others to release The Path to 9/11 (which he buried for political reasons), was told off by his shareholders regarding his anti-Christian bias on ESPN, and still promoting Gay Days (which was one of Eisner’s mistakes). I can’t believe Disney fans are actually saying that Iger was one of the better executives to Disney. He’s just as bad as Eisner, if not worse. And he also was the reason why we rarely GET 2D animation at Disney anymore. Heck, we’re barely even getting animated films now thanks largely to his insistence that we get live action remakes to old films.

Well, if there’s any consolation to all of this, it’s that Iger’s days are numbered at Disney, meaning once he retires, we’ll get an actual chance at getting a conservative into Disney, a true conservative hopefully, who will enact actual change. Then again, people said the same thing when Eisner was booted out, and we got Iger. Probably the only good thing Iger actually did for Disney is get Oswald the Lucky Rabbit back. That’s it.

Dear Ms. Smith,

Thank you for writing to Mr. Staggs and to Mr. Iger regarding the Walt Disney World Resort. Your correspondence to them has been forwarded to me, so that I may personally respond to your comments.

We truly appreciate your enthusiasm for the Walt Disney World Resort. Unlike Grad Nights and the Night of Joy events which are sponsored by the Walt Disney World Resort, Orlando Gay Days is privately organized, with events planned throughout Central Florida during the first week in June. As the Walt Disney World Resort is open to everyone, every day, we extend our welcome to all Guests. It has become a tradition for participants in the event you referenced to visit Central Florida?s theme parks and other attractions, including the Walt Disney World Resort during the first weekend in June. As always, we will strive to
make sure that all of our Guests enjoy the park to its fullest.

Should you have any questions or wish to further discuss your feedback, I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you. I am traditionally available at 407-560-2710 between 12:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. EST. You may also provide me with your telephone number and the best time to call as a reply to this message. I would be happy to contact you.

We hope to have future opportunities to entertain you and your family at our resort.

Sincerely,

Jillian Gerner

Likewise.

I try always to source my 'opinions'.

Disney’s Bib Iger just doesn’t want to be asked publicly why he illegally fired Americans and replaced them with H-1B foreign workers.

Disney is outsourcing their IT functions to companies that use H-1B resources exclusively. So why should Iger be at a discussion on creating jobs in the U.S.?
