Disney CEO Bob Iger Refuses to Attend Business Executive Forum at White House

Disney CEO Bob Iger, one of the few entertainment industry executives asked to attend President Donald Trump’s policy forum at the White House this week, has refused the invitation.

In December, President Trump described the policy forum being held at the White House as a meeting of “CEOs and business leaders who know what it takes to create jobs and drive economic growth.” The event was organised by Blackstone chairman Stephen A. Schwarzman and Bob Iger was considered one of the more high profile attendees but a source has told The Hollywood Reporter that Iger will not be there.

Many executives from large companies are still scheduled to attend such as SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Uber CEO Travis Kalanick, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon, Walmart CEO Doug McMillon and General Motors CEO Mary Barra. Travis Kalanick of Uber has been attempting to calm recent anger from Uber users over what was perceived as the company’s refusal to participate in an hour long strike organised by New York taxi drivers to protest President Trump’s temporary travel halt.

My kids are grown, and we no longer watch ESPN, so that limits the opportunity to boycott Disney.

You can trash them whenever they come up.

Stop it!

Disney never sponsored "Gay Days" at any Disney park or location.

"Gay Days" was generated by local gay organizations and it became national WITHOUT any encouragement from the Disney company.

Did you want Disney to question attendees at their park "Are you gay?" then refuse entry.

A$$hole!

They would have been sued mightily and probably even indicted criminally for such actions.

Pull the broadcast licenses of all Disney-owned companies.

Why the surprise? Disney owns ABC, which employs Clinton sycophant and Foundation donor George Stefalupolis and of course fake “journalist” Martha Radditz who actually cried - on the air - while reporting on Trump’s victory.

Just stay away from all Disney properties and theme parks, including networks like ABC and ESPN, and you’ll do just fine.

I don’t know anything about “Gay Days.” My problem with Disney is ABCESPN and the sorry PC movies they put out today.

The Walt Disney Company has gone full Gay Proggie. Walt’s rolling in his grave.

Disney was a very devout Congregationalist Christian, the religion of his family, and was named after the family minister. He was unashamed and spoke of his faith publicly. He even had the first Disneyland dedicated by a Congregationalist reverend.1 He said:

“Whatever success I have had in bringing clean, informative entertainment to people of all ages, I attribute in great part to my Congregational upbringing and my lifelong habit of prayer. To me, today, at age sixty-one, all prayer, by the humble or highly placed, has one thing in common: supplication for strength and inspiration to carry on the best human impulses which should bind us together for a better world.”2

“Uber boss has refused, too. These corporate thugs should pay a price.”

Boycotting exacts a price where it needs to be directly applied.

These guys can pull these stunts but I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump finds a way to enact revenge ... and he is now the PotUS. Plus half of the country is turned off by it. Short Starbucks and Disney stock?

This is stupid. Bob Iger is about to retire. He is not a manufacturer. He doesn’t belong there. In the future, Trump may have a media, Hollywood meeting and Iger’s replacement will be there. But right now Iger should not be there as he is leaving his post soon.
