The Revolutionary Black Panther Party pledged legal action Sunday against local officials for their response to a planned armed march at a news conference interrupted when law enforcement officers arrived to remove their weapons.
The news conference was taking place on the steps of the New Hanover County Courthouse when members of the New Hanover County Sheriffs Office and the Wilmington Police Department arrived. New Hanover County Sheriffs Office Lt. Donald Warnick told party leader Dr. Alli Muhammad they were not allowed to have their weapons on courthouse property.
Tensions heightened when some party members noticed officers with the Wilmington Police Department, dressed in tactical gear, aiming weapons toward the group.
Can you tell them to lower their weapons, one of the party members asked Warnick. They need to lower their weapons.
Warnick responded, Were just being ready, sir.
Warnick continued to ask members to put their weapons on the courthouse steps, as well as remove any facial coverings. At the direction of Muhammad, party members voluntarily put their weapons down.
Members of the party were in violation of a local county ordinance prohibiting the display of firearms and possession of concealed handguns on courthouse property, as well as a state law that prohibits wearing masks at meetings or demonstrations, according to a New Hanover County Sheriffs Office news release.
Sheriffs deputies then picked up the weapons, two revolvers, five semi-automatic pistols and three shotguns, and began unloading them before taking them to be inventoried. All of the weapons were loaded and some had bullets in the chamber.

Pretty much.
“Loaded weapons and covered faces? What were they planning on doing?”
Make it easier for the snipers to pick off ?
Geez! Where were the “good” cops in Philadelphia?
Dr. Alli Muhammad
What was this protest about, or was it just payday?
That’s SOP...
How many bullets does the chamber hold? Sheesh!
Ill defend the right of any group to conduct a peaceful protest within the constraints of the law, but the Revolutionary Black Panther Party meeting in Wilmington did not even pretend to have any understanding of the applicable gun laws. Indeed, if they did understand the law, it suggests they were intentionally seeking to trigger a confrontation with law enforcement.
A pajama party, of course!
Assault pistols.
Black Lies Matter.
New Hanover County Sheriffs Office Lt. Donald Warnick told party leader Dr. Alli Muhammad, “Sorry I had a fight in the middle of your Black Panther party.”
I hope they arrested them and will fine them. If it had of been some white 75 year old grandmother with a conceal and carry license with a loaded weapon, they would have arrested her.
Well, I could probably squeeze a few 22LRs in my .308 chamber. I'd just have to hold the gun upright so that they didn't slide out the barrel. :)
Their “Homie” has just about succeeded in insuring that
no more “blacks” will be President in a very long time,
nor Democrats, anywhere in government - AND HIM MOSTLY
WHITE, with a smidge of “black” with a LOT of Arab for good
measure. Hypocrisy is not a winning game.
Also, let Hussein keep on running his piehole. Uh-huh.
Uh-huh. That’s the ticket!!
The covering of one’s face, which we have seen, of late, at many anti-Trump demonstrations and riots, ought to be illegal in every state. Of course, the democratic run states, seem to be laws unto themselves, in an extraordinary way; I, for one, have had just about enough of their tantrums.
Well, if this is their first run in with the Sheriff’s Office; hopefully they will have learned what they were doing was not legal and was not going to be permitted.
Otherwise, they can take their chances and try it again.
Odds are that they will do it again because of a congenital inability to learn.
