After eight long years of a lawless Obama Department of Justice, it is fitting--and sad--that the very last act of the Obama DOJ is for the Acting AG to defy the newly elected President, refuse to enforce the law, and force the President to fire her. Sally Yates now joins the ignominious succession, from Eric Holder to Loretta Lynch, of Attorneys General who put brazen partisan interests above fidelity to law.
President Trump was exactly right to fire an acting Attorney General who refused to carry out her constitutional duty to enforce and defend the law. Yates lawless partisanship highlights why the Senate needs to act now--and Senate Democrats should end their extreme political obstruction and delay--and confirm Jeff Sessions immediately. America needs and deserves an Attorney General who will be faithful to the Constitution and uphold the law.

While I like this statement but Cruz I can’t get back the nagging feeling that he is trying to play the political long game. I can’t trust him to just do what’s right but there is a political calculation involved.
I wish the whole party would. Instead they run to the cameras to tell us how dangerous he is. They allowed the dems to put off the Treasury vote so they could have a vigil for the “immigrants”. You can’t make this crap up. Cruz is not the problem right now

The Lawless years of Obama, and Holder are over; America is a nation of laws of equal rights, justice, and enforcement.
You cannot enforce just some of the laws you like and approve of, while ignoring laws that displease you; that creates uncertainty and lawlessness.
The line of secession of Attorneys General may very well not end here, especially since the Department of "JUST-US" became so politicized,
but 'equal justice for all' needs to start somewhere.
Hopefully the Senate and Congress can get on with the business at hand and give the nation a working Attorney General, and put all this politicized bickering behind.
I see Ted getting Ginsberg spot. Need him where he is now.
Does anyone know if she looses her pension and benefits by being fired, or does she need to be tried for a crime?
I was a Ted Cruz supporter during his Senate run, and voted for him in the Presidential Primary last year. After his stunt at the RNC, Cruz was dead to me, and I doubted I could ever vote for him again. However, he came round and his late support of Trump was probably helpful. Since Trump has come into office, Cruz seems like he's on the same team, so all is forgiven on my end. Cruz' statement on the firing of the acting AG is perfect.
I love it- she opened her ‘pie hole’ this morning and she is gone today! Don’t trifle with the President, he is a business manager and CEO not a wimpy politician. Anyone else would probably called her in and tried to reason with her. “Can’t we just get along?” Stupid is as stupid does every time!!!!
Go Mr. President! After 8 years of O’s B.S.!!!!! Finally.
Trump should use one of their delays as a reason to kill DACA. Put the threat out before executing
Good one, Ted. Now go after McLame and his chihuahua from South Carolina.
Fantastic response.
I rejoice that now Senator Ted Cruz is standing with our President, by the grace of God, Donald Trump.
I gotta say..I was not a Cruz fan during the primaries, but I know now what many here saw in him. Whether it is true support or good politics for him, I don’t care. He has been Trump’s best and most vocal ally in the Senate. He is there every time Trump needs a boost or another voice.
Compare Cruz with McCain and Graham and you see the difference between a politician who does the right thing and a couple of CNN/MSM whores. Every day I have less respect for the “two little girls” in the Senate, who comb each other’s hair all day long.
> SCOTUS
No way. No way in hell.
I personally don't give a flying F*** what that LOSER LYIN' TED CRUZ says. Now, or EVER.
Just go away Ted, NO ONE CARES!
Is there a source for this information or you know this how?
Thank you, Senator Cruz!!
Now that Ted has shown some courage maybe others in the Republican party will speak out in support of Trump.
You don’t get to pick your parents, so I am not trashing Ted. Just pointing out that now he knows he was used by the Bushes and that he can be his own person now. It is beginning to look as if that he is a pretty patriotic person.
Glad to see TED CRUZ step up to the plate.
