Mexico's biggest cash cow is under threat from President Donald Trump.
The country's largest source of cash comes from Mexicans living in the United States. That is now under the microscope after Trump issued an executive order Wednesday to start building a wall on the border.
During his campaign, Trump said multiple times that Mexico will pay for the wall. He even threatened to halt or tax cash transfers -- known as remittances -- from the U.S. to Mexico if the country refused to pay for it. Powered by SmartAsset.com SmartAsset.com
"They will reimburse us for the cost of the wall. That will happen, whether it's a tax or a payment -- probably less likely that it's a payment, but it will happen," Trump said on January 11.

Charge a 2% fee on the money going to Mexico. Too high and they'll drive it down or do some other avoidance tactic. 2% they'll pay.
That's enough for them to pay for the wall.
Mexico does not respect the US or our laws.
The government has been encouraging Mexicans to illegally enter our country, get benefits fraudulently, work illegally and send the proceeds home.
Remittances from the US is Mexicos largest source of income.
They are a cleptocracy.
Trump wants to shut-down Tijuana donkey shows?
Western Union no longer considers Mexico a foreign country for purposes of sending money.
We’re paying for free education, food stamps, healthcare for illegals, housing.
They take the cash and ship it home. We lose out on income taxes at federal and state level.
We lose out on the multiplier effect of cash being spent into a local economy.
Trump gets it. They’ll be begging him for a meeting if he squeezes this source of money, which accounts for 25% of the Mexican economy.
2%? How about 4% or 5%?
Another awesome move!
NO, 30%
10% Federal Income Tax
15% SS and Medicare Tax(FICA)
5% State Income Tax
30%
JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE!!!
You don’t want to create too high an incentive for them to drive the cash over or the cartels setting up another network.
2% is low enough they’ll pay it without noticing much.
2 or 3% is the question.
The illegals will be sent out of the country as the wall is built.
They’re paid in cash from subcontractors. Tracking that down is impossible.
If you make the % too high they’ll just avoid it driving money over or the cartels will set up something.
2% works.
The country’s largest source of cash comes from Mexicans living in the United States...
Gee, that sounds so congenial.
Like they are all on visas.
Now as Raloh Kramden would say “EVERYBODY OUT!!!”
We will bring them to heel
How about disallowing any sort of welfare for non-citizens, so they wont have the extra money to send back in the first place?
Make it just not Mexico but countries known to exploit the Mexican border
Estimate the number of illegals from each country and add a graduated surtax based on that. The more from Mexico, the higher
It should be just Mexico, the wall gets built better and faster when other culprits are paying for it too
Oh and make it high enough to more than pay for the wall but to fund the Border Patrol as well, including additions of new agents.
Also funds not allocated to “Sanctuary Cities” can also subsidize it
Lastly, Americans should just stop vacationing in Mexico and Latin America until these b******* get on board. Screw em all.

So CNN finally admits that mexico has become a Parasite narco corruption state?
How about 25%
Ban all electronic cash transfers - can’t stop the mail though.
The threat to DJT just went up exponentially.
I knew the Democrats were moonlighting.
For decades, Mexico has outsourced its social-welfare system, and exported the human consequences of its failed socialist policies to the USA.
It was a win-win-win for Mexico. Dump their lowest classes on the USA, while creating an automatic Mexican fifth-column and lobby in the USA. American Leftists and the Democrat Party benefited from the scam and lawbreaking as well.
Let’s hope to God Trump is successful in ending it.
