Days into Donald Trumps administration, heads are finally beginning to roll at the Department of Veterans Affairs. Two notoriously corrupt employees in Puerto Rico were fired this week, indicating that more may be on the way.

I knew someone who worked at the VA Regional Office in San Juan. She said that 80 percent of the people there only come so that they can spend their day in air conditioning. They don’t do anything. All the work is done by the 20 percent who actually come to work.

Once the bureaucracy see’s that they are going to be accountable to the American people the government will suddenly get a lot more responsive and efficient.

Went to the VA Clinic today for blood work. No picture of Trump or the VA Secretary. Only a few nails in the wall where pictures are supposed to be. Guess they weren’t sure he was actually going to be President. At least Obama’s picture was gone.
The VA in general perhaps but I think in Puerto Rico it will take years.
The island is a financial mess because of years of dependence on social welfare. Work ethic has suffered terribly.
Finding people willing to work may take bringing in people from the main land.
None of the agencies have photos yet...even the military is still waiting.
I read on another thread, that the official portrait photos have not been sent out yet to all the military sites.
The VA is my health care. I live in Phoenix. There are 150 VA hospitals around the nation. The Phoenix VA hospital is rated #150.
I pray daily.
An earlier FR thread said that the old pictures were to come down last Friday at noon. The new ones had not arrived.
That thread had a photo of a military installation where they improvised with a cartoon picture of a triumphant Trump standing on a tank leading the charge. It was a hoot!
