Former CBS News anchor Dan Rather is teaching an online course in journalism called finding the truth in the news at UDemy. Now, hes taken to Facebook to say that the media, the American people, and the political class has to call out President Trump on his lies. No, this isnt the Onion.
These are not normal times. These are extraordinary times. And extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures, wrote Rather. What can we do? We can all step up and say simply and without equivocation. "A lie, is a lie, is a lie!" And if someone won't say it, those of us who know that there is such a thing as the truth must do whatever is in our power to diminish the liar's malignant reach into our society, he added.
Yeah, this is coming from a man who embroiled CBS in scandal for using unverified memos that offered an unflattering picture of President George W. Bushs service in the Texas Air National Guard in 2004. Experts concluded that the memos were not authentic. And Rather soon was shown the door. So, while its obvious that we should call out the president, whoever that may be, for spreading falsehoods—its a bit absurd to take orders from Rather, a disseminator of fake news, on this subject.
Priceless coming from one of the all time greats in the fake News arena...
Hey, jackass, if you and the rest of the media had done that to Obama, you wouldn’t all be sitting around with egg on your face, and maybe, JUST MAYBE, the people would have believed your B.S. and voted for Killary!
You, THE MEDIA, caused the outrage and disgust that we, THE PEOPLE, are throwing your way! Don’t try to take it out on Trump!!
Lets get to the basics.
What is the purpose of a lie? To control you.
What is the purpose of the truth? To free you.
We yelled and yelled and yelled over the course of 8 years about the lies coming out of Obama’s mouth and nothing was done.
That’s rich, coming from Rather.
And he’s teaching a course on truth in journalism? LOL!!!!
Did you expect anything different from a hypocrite like Dan Rather? I didn’t think so.
*snort*
