John Sopko, special inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction (SIGAR), said the salaries of ghost soldiers is just one of many ways Americans money is wasted in Afghanistan all for rather modest gains.
What gains? As soon as the U.S. troops are finally gone from Afghanistan, the Taliban will take over again. The whole Afghan misadventure has been a fools errand, a massive, ghastly waste of American lives, money, and materiel.

We could have taken oil to pay for those 10,000 plus soldiers for as long as we needed to do that.
Thanks for checking up on me Red
We aren’t there for the heck of it any more than we went to Iraq or Kuwaitt, just different commodities.
Same thing for Viet Nam, only there it was Gulf of Tonkin, oil too.
Good day.
When told about this, Obama sniffed and said, "Jizya."
The Teamsters must be in Afghanistan.....
