LL Bean on defensive after Linda Bean’s political donation
Boston Globe ^ | January 9, 2017 | AP

L.L. Bean likes to stay out of politics, but a donation by a member of the Bean family is putting the retailer on the defensive.

The Maine-based company issued a statement late Sunday after being targeted for boycott for alleged ties to Republican President-elect Donald Trump.

The founders of the hashtag #GrabYourWallet included Bean on the list after The Associated Press reported that L.L. Bean’s granddaughter, Linda Bean, contributed $60,000 to a political action committee supporting Trump. The donation exceeded the PAC’s contribution limit...

They have some good stuff. Might want to take a look at the website or the catalog, if you need anything. Even though the CEO issued a kind of weak statement, we can't let them get away with picking off the weak.

‘Alleged ties’ - it’s a lame media cliche but it also reveals they think freedom to donate and support the GOP is akin to involvement in the Mob.

I have bought from L.L. Bean many times. Now I will buy much more from them. They are now officially a first level “go to” shopping location. They have an easy return policy, too, if I remember correctly. Good to know one member of the family at least knows what’s good for the country.

L.L. Bean is a main stream company that got its start in 1912 making the best all weather boot in the world, the original Duck Boot ( Maine Hunting):

No political criticism will effect their market, it would be like boycotting the wind.Much of LL Beans market is overseas, Europe,Japan and South Korea.Even if no one in America ordered from LL Bean, the company would still prevail because of its international business:

I am glad that one of the Beans supported Trump. They will bring many jobs to Maine as the economy improves. When the economy improves, LL Bean will sell more of its goods in America because their customers will have more disposable income. Linda knows what party to support!

I am picking up my phome and ordering from LL Bean today. They have tremendous New Year sales on!

THEY don't think that - remember, they always lie - but they want to make it socially unacceptable for the weak-minded to be GOP-identified. Look at the Golden Globes show - just wait for the Oscars!

Politics is downstream from culture - we have to fight them on all fronts. Back when it was an issue, I drove 100 miles to buy a Chick-fil-A sandwich, and our response was so overwhelming that you don't hear them bitching about the owners any more.

The Left never rests. Neither should we.

I was a loyal LL Bean customer until a few years ago when more and more and more of their goods were made in China / elsewhere and the quality suffered greatly . 10 years ago one could still buy a winter flannel shirt made in Canada - no more . USA ? Forget it .

Damn, I might have to consider buying something from LL Bean. And let’s make sure #GrabYourWallet folks on Twitter know that *conservatives* can do the reverse...

Target was hurt. So was JC Penney. We can also HELP...see: Chick Fil-A.

“I was a loyal LL Bean customer until a few years ago when more and more and more of their goods were made in China”

I get it, me too - you know I bought a replacement for my FORTY YEAR OLD Sorel shoe pacs, which were getting a little worse for wear - and they fell apart in six weeks. Sorels are no longer made in Canada, but in China.

NEVERTHELESS. This is a probing action by your and my enemies to intimidate Mainers who live in CD 2 and who gave their EV to Trump. It’s VERY important for this not to work.

If LL Bean suffers because of the boycott, they will join other corporate enemies of the people to enforce Cultural Marxism. If they don’t suffer, or if their sales rise, they probably won’t.

I just got a pair of Guide boots for Christmas, they’re pretty nice. Go ahead, buy something. Just for a few weeks.

This is Boston Globe’s figleaf of a “story”, an excuse to “out” LL Bean for one of the family having donated to Trump. There was no story here, a private citizen made a legal political donation-where’s the story in that? It was just the Globe’s veneer, making it into a story, in order to put heat on the woman for making a political donation to an “unapproved”, by the left, candidate.

The msm media may be dying, but I wish it would get a move on and croak already. The msm is one of the biggest internal threats to freedom in this country now. They surely know that they’re one of the most mistrusted entities in the country, but they just keep doubling down. Like CBS twisting the story of the 4 blacks who tortured a special needs white kid, to make it look like the victim was black and the criminals were white.

They’re despicable, and we need to starve them of air (money, consumer support) so they can die already.

Well, this is a happy coincidence. I was just wanting to order a paid of their slippers the other day, but couldn’t really justify $70 for slippers - but now I can!

A lot of Liberals like to dress as if they lived “in the country”. They like to appear like they could go hunting at a moments notice. They are landed gentry. They are “close to the earth”.

Of course its all pretend. They have contempt for anyone who actually lives like that.

Well, they may be dying, but let's do our part to deny them victories while they're doing it.

“I was a loyal LL Bean customer until a few years ago...”

Same here. We left them for the same reason...too much imported cheaply-made Chinese crap.

Have conservatives become so desperate for friends that when we find a company, an actor, politician or entertainer that doesn’t outright hate us that we feel like we have to run over and give them our money?

I wonder how much money was donated to the Dems/libs (collectively) by LL Bean CEO’s and employees?

Better tell the Ultra Liberal Weather Channel and all the other weather reporters across the country (many Homo’s) that wear Bean Garb, love it and promote it.

Mostly because it quality stuff, sometimes a bit pricy but you get what cha pay for, with excellent customer service

The Maine ‘Hunting Shoe’ is the best hunting boot made for stalking deer.

They allow your feet to ‘feel’ the forest floor so you don’t break sticks etc as you walk. They fit like moccasins.
