Nearly half of Germany’s women now feel unsafe walking about their local neighbourhood, a survey has revealed, with many taking precautions such as pepper spray with them when out at night.
The survey, by Emnid for Bild am Sonntag further found that 58 per cent of women believe that public places have become less safe in recent times, following news of events such as the mass sexual assault attacks on women in Cologne on New Year’s Eve last year.
Forty-eight per cent of the women surveyed said they have changed their habits to avoid certain areas in their neighborhood, while 16 per cent said they carried pepper spray when venturing out after dark.

This is very sad. They did not have this feeling, that most city Americans have dealt with for decades. I never felt safe walking around most parts of LA after dark. But when I lived in Switzerland, and we did spend time in Germany, women from 16 to 96 could walk to the corner after dark and shop or eat. It was really nice.
They destroyed that, potentially forever.

My husband and I traveled to London quite a bit in the 80’s and 90’s and we always felt safe walking at night and never felt unsafe walking by myself during the day. We won’t go back to London again. It’s changed mightily so I can just imagine being a German woman.
I was in a London district in 2008 or 2009 and walking in a crowd during the daytime. I got body checked by a muslim man who was zigzagging through the crowd targeting women. I was injured and limped back to my hotel. No one helped the many women on the ground from this human garbage. I never felt safe after that.
Germany needs Bismark, not Obama with a skirt. Merkel is a traitor to her people and will live in infamy. I still hope that at some point the Teutonic blood will rise to the surface and the German men will grow a sufficient backbone to repel the invaders. If not then all Europe is doomed.
