As we watch the rise of the Snowflake Generation with a mixture of bemusement and horror you know, the young people unable to use a can opener but who are certain theyre qualified to dictate business and social policy, the generation who can work a smartphone like a brain surgeon but cant figure out what gender they are it should come as no surprise that manhood and masculinity have come under fire.
If youve ever wondered what it takes to be a man, look no further than the University of Wisconsin-Madison. There youll find the answer: Real men act like women. There, problem solved. Ta da!
To underscore this, the University of Wisconsin-Madison offers a six-week program called Mens Project, the aim of which is to counter the alleged harmful effects of societys masculinity paradigms and pressures and empower participants to promote gender equity.'
This syllabus alone is enough to force my husband into his safe space (the shop) and start cleaning his guns.
According to the projects promotional material, the course creates a space for critical self-reflection and dialogue about what it means to be a man and how masculinity impacts us and those around us. The experience focuses on the examination of societal images, expectations, and messages around masculinity to empower men to better understand themselves, promote the advancement of gender equity, and raise consciousness in their communities.
Gosh, do you feel manly yet?

fyi
Well, if they're only alleged, why bother countering them?
Shouldn't one first prove that the paradigms have such harmful effects before attempting to counter them?
Oh, sorry! I forgot! These people have (said in a raspy John Houseman voice) "a skull full of mush."
Regards,
Traditional manhood needs a comeback.
It is time to bury this phrase. Gender equality actually means sexual sameness. While men and women are equal under the law, they are different. We need to start accepting this fact of life again and stop trying to erase real sexual differences. Nor is it unjust to recognize differences in roles between the sexes in the family and in society. When God made man male and female he did not make a mistake.
ha HA! I was just going to send that to you! Great minds think alike.
Just make a complete mockery of the class, which is already a mockery of itself.
“Role reversal is nearly complete. The feminisation of America has happened.”
Almost everyone is a feminist to one degree or another. I remember elementary school in the 70s lionizing Susan B. Anthony. Who kids are taught to praise is selective. Public schools focus on one thing and intentionally ignore others. We as a society have been intentionally brainwashed away from traditional values. The culture plays it up. Women can’t get enough it seems of the strong independent woman meme. And young boys soak it in by osmosis.
....Yet in a few weeks we get a new President who defines the idea of being a man. Interesting times we live in.
Good morning!
Some of the other freepers and I joke about running DNA tests re the Great Minds think alike, after we post similar replies without knowing that the other posted the same. Sometimes in minutes or less apart.
The kicker is that “traditionalism” is still just feminism.
Guys still are expected to exist to serve women, whom live comfy lives thanks to the ingenuity of men...because reasons.
Can you say “man-bun”? LOL! I your long hair is bothersome to the extent of needing to “bun” it up. Maybe a haircut is in order. Just sayin’. Then again, it really has no impact on my life.
The new motto: “Be a transgender”.
Hmmm. New word? “demockritization”?
More likely us smartasses think alike. LOL!
Like it or not, both the baby and the bath water got thrown out together. I do not know if what used to be defined in the past can ever come back?
Even in the scriptures from Galatians for its time was progressive “neither Jew nor Greek,
slave or free, male or female.”
Can you say "Clay Matthews"?
Don't be making fun of the "man-bun".
Shrug. It’s Madistan: 76 square miles of mass hallucinations surrounded by reality. I used to live there, but then I got clean and sober and got a good-paying job, and had to leave.
The Left have demonstrated their ability to take a small minority viewpoint and making it appear to be the dominant viewpoint. This snowflake stuff is a case in point.
