BERLIN (AFP) – The first reprint of Adolf Hitler’s “Mein Kampf” in Germany since World War II has proved a surprise bestseller, heading for its sixth print run, its publisher said Tuesday. The Institute of Contemporary History of Munich (IfZ) said around 85,000 copies of the new annotated version of the Nazi leader’s anti-Semitic manifesto had flown off the shelves since its release last January.

True, the cultural inspiration behind Mein Kampf appears to have been selectively myopic...

The Bavarian Lutheran Church has acknowledged the obvious effect...

"...the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria, on the 60th anniversary of Kristallnacht, issued a declaration^[97] saying: "It is imperative for the Lutheran Church, which knows itself to be indebted to the work and tradition of Martin Luther, to take seriously also his anti-Jewish utterances, to acknowledge their theological function, and to reflect on their consequences. You may be on to something here. I have German friends who were astonished that an American could admire Rommel as a clever warrior. They have been prohibited from even learning about those men, good or bad.

I have friends in the UK who also admire many of the WWII Germans, just for their military prowess. The Brits have the only working Tiger & King Tiger tanks in the world; and, they cherish them right along side the Spitfire.

Interesting comments on this thread. Is it German people who are buying this book? Or muzzie immigrants.

If it is German natives, then perhaps the see the muslim infiltration to their culture and society in much the same way they saw the Jewish immigrants from a century ago. And as such they plan on using the same Hitler like tactics to deal with their current crisis.

On the other hand, if the muzzies are studying Mein Kampf - will they use these Nazi tactics against the Germans?

Either way - there will be a cultural crisis in Germany - and all of Europe soon.

Who owns the copywrite now? It used to belong to the Hitler beneficiaries after his supposed death. Hitler made millions off of trademarks and copy writes. Images, writings etc... All the posters and images and books were actually purchased for use and Hitler got his cut. A copy of Mein Kampf was was given to every newlywed couple and as awards to young Nazi faithfuls.

I would have to disagree that muzzies are buying these up.

The fraud that is the German’s shame for the holocaust better explains the large selling numbers.

Muzzies don’t need to buy this book to confirm their hatred of Jews.

In that essay Luther also ranted about "tyranical god" -- making the state of his faith questionable: ie, had he lost it?  Maybe that's why the negligent "leaders" of, at least some, religious organizations bearing his name are so terrified of raising the subject.... at the same time they quote, and legitimize, Luther again, and again, and again - without qualification.

I browse 4chan a lot so I can understand the mentality behind it.

Basically, a lot of people are fed up with the bs that is the status quo in Germany, and turn to Nazism out of spite. If you get demonized as a fascist for being a patriot, then some people literally are saying, “You know what, I am a Nazi! Sieg Heil and screw you!”

Plus a lot of people who are somewhat are of the brainwashing are falling for the Whitewashing of the Nazis as being these Anti-communist warriors that many fall victim too.

People are tired of people denying that the Soviet’s were just as bad if not worse than Fascism, so some delude themselves into whitewashing the Nazis to force the point.

So, because the right-wing is so damaged and suppressed a lot of people that would be normal Nationalists or at worst Reactionaries (which I don’t really see as “bad), are being pushed into Neo-Nazis.
