Putin Stunner: "We Will Not Expel Anyone; We Refuse To Sink To 'Kitchen' Diplomacy"

Vladimir the merciful?

Following this morning's reports that Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov would recommend to Russian President Vladimir Putin a retaliation in kind, and expel 35 American diplomats, saying that “we cannot leave such acts unanswered. Reciprocity is part of diplomatic law" with Putin spokesman Peskov adding that "there is no doubt that Russia's adequate and mirror response will make Washington officials feel very uncomfortable as well", it was ultimately up to Putin to decide how to respond to the US.

Which he did on Friday morning, when in a stunning reversal, the Russian leader took the high road, and in a Kremlin statement said that, contrary to expectations, Russia won’t expel any Americans in retaliation to US moves, in a brutal demonstration of just how irrelevant Obama's 11th hour decision is for US-Russian relations.

In the statement Putin said that Russia won’t cause problems to U.S. diplomats or deport anyone, adding that Russia has the right to respond in tit-for-tat manner, but it will not engage in irresponsible diplomacy.

The punchline, however, was saved for what may be Russia's final slam of the debacle that is Obama's administration saying that "It’s a pity that the current U.S. administration is finishing their work in such a manner" saying that Russia refuses "

It’s kind of fun to watch, but at some point, Obama WILL order an attack on Russian military positions, somewhere (probably Syria).

What happens next will be quite interesting - perhaps our military will say something like “sorry, but no thanks”.

I think it would be wonderful if the Russian Embassy invited the reconstituted Red Army Chorus to perform a special concert for peace in conjunction with several large Russian Orthodox churches

That’s the ONE THING Obama will not do - life test of a nuke (above ground or underground), as that would STRENGTHEN our military for Trump, but telling us how well our weapons are still working (assuming they still work at all). It has been a quarter century since we detonated one, and I strongly suspect it’s only a matter of a few months before Trump resumes underground testing.

Obama and the uniparty have surrogates in ISIS who would be happy to carry out a significant attack

The Russians have hinted that they are aware they are in danger of terrorist attack ordered by obama

Just because you are paranoid doesn’t mean there really aren’t people out to get you

We are in very perilous times imo
Pray for both putin and trump
Pence bloviates against Russia like a uniparty neocon tool and Putin’s replacement may be far less constrained in reacting to provocations

"I thought the Kenyan would do the same but now believe Moo will drag him out asap after the swearing in."

Dollars to Donuts they don't even show. I wonder what the MIL does, will she be barking out orders in the background. What a carnival. I suspect he does something SJW-wise that day to signal he is back or will never leave the scene.

Have the readers of FR lost their collective minds? Russia is not America's friend. Putin is not a friend. Putin is a former KGB agent.

Yes, Putin played this situation in a strategic manner. Yes, Putin made Obama look small. But Putin is doing this for Putin's best interests. Never forget that. Do not idolize Putin.

That is skirting on the edge of being a concern troll. Relax. No one here is idolizing Putin. Giving Putin respect and some praise for his actions is not idolizing. Would you rather we boo him and ask for an unnecessary global conflict with Russia.

He knows that this is just a smokescreen to coverup Democrat malfeasance.

Also knows that Trump is coming into power in 3 weeks, and anything BO does is utterly meaningless. Better to not take the bait and maybe really cause a problem.

My guess, Putin and Trump have already had a sub rosa conversation on this, and many other things.

Absolutely. Do not trust Putin. At all.

I do admire your chutzpah in accusing me of being a "concern troll" for reminding people not to trust Putin. Would it also be a "concern troll" to suggest that criticizing Putin on FR risks an unnecessary global conflict with Russia?

That response makes Obama look even more petulant and petty in his waning days.

Then there is the WH announcement that Obama will veto any further UN resolutions against Israel. Apparently, Obama has discovered that his party leadership still can ‘pressure’ decisions.

I suspect even the Dems are watching closely to see that Obama is limited in the political damage he does between now and January 20.

0bama has released NO PROOF of Russian involvement.

Judge Napolitano reported on Fox News that he was personally told by a 30y NSA official that the Wikileaks originated from the NSA and not the Russians.
