Jerry Brown: California to Bypass Trump on Climate Change

California Gov. Jerry Brown has suggested that the State of California could bypass the administration of President Donald J. Trump and work directly with foreign governments in advancing the cause of climate change, the New York Times reports.

Last May, Gov. Brown signed a climate change deal between twelve regional and provincial governments in seven countries, committing to reduce the “greenhouse gases” that trap heat in the earth’s atmosphere and are thought to drive global warming. The aim was to show that California was committed to tackling the issue, even if Congress and the courts were not prepared to rubber-stamp President Barack Obama’s aggressive climate change agenda. He also played a prominent role at the Paris climate change talks last December (prompting speculation as to whether he was still clinging to presidential ambitions).

Will calibfornia ever recover? Doubtful.

Well, it may be possible to reintroduce reconstruction to the state of California.

You simply repeal a couple of laws at the national level, and completely replace the government of California. After all, it worked so well in the South </sarcasm>

Article I, Section 10 begins: 1: No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation;..."

Of course, liberals don't understand the words of the Constitution, they only understand the "ideals" of the Constitution (meaning whatever they want it to mean) - so my "interpretation" of these words might be racist, sexist, xenophobic or fattening. If so, please report to the nearest safe space.

I want severe vetting of any Californians coming to the other states. We do not need nor want their perverted sense of values.

Simple “GREEN ZONE AHEAD! NO HUMANS PERTMITTED!” would probably stop them.

The feds can make it illegal to create standards different from federal standards, at least with any industry or activity that can be considered “interstate”. It’s called the commerce clause. Libs have stretched the commerce clause so it pretty much covers anything that happens, no matter how small the impact, so that everything, from a local barbershop to a county dirt road, is considered subject to federal regulation. They can now live with that.

Just in time for the latest "grand solar minimum", which will cause a mini-ice age for the next 15 to 20 years. So, following Jerry Brown's reasoning, if CO2 causes global warming, shouldn't we be burning everything possible to raise CO2?

Don't worry, neither CO2 nor normal human activity significantly affect the climate. Climate is affected by the Solar cycles, the Sun's magnetic field, cosmic rays and cloud cover. Buy warm clothing or move to Florida.

California has been very fortunate to have high tech in the north and hollywood in the south. Without the engines of prosperity, its poor management would have sunk the state by now. If the rest of the country prospers under Trump, I wonder how many of those businesses who used to be able to profit by Chinese manufacturing will decide to set up US operations in Texas and Florida and leave the California state taxes and regulation behind.

I represent a company that decided to stop doing business with California companies entirely because of excessive and stupid regulations that apply only within California. Stopped working with California companies, problem solved. And California lost a lower cost, more effective solution to that particular issue.

California can do whatever it wants.

Sadly, there are a huge number of good Americans trapped here. We have just been swamped with illegals and our voice can't be heard. We voted for Prop 187 in 1994, a mere 22 years ago. When that got thrown out, wrongly, we were overrun. We voted for Republican Governors until 10 years ago, for Reagan twice and Bush once, and had Republican Senators til the late 90s. We had B1 Bob Dornan, and he lost only because illegals started voting in his district. We have Duncan Hunter, Jr and Sr.

I think America ought to reclaim California for Americans.

Actually it is the coastal counties that cause all the problems. Inland (eastern) countries and high desert communities are straightforward working people.

I’ve always thought if these communities would assert themselves and cancel and void all that Mulholland water rights grab stuff the problem would solve itself. The West Coast Sea-stoners would die of thirst. A few million illegals and no-goods shouldn’t control the lives of everyone in the rest of the state.

Jerry just announced that Zimbabwe has agreed to provide foreign aid to California for this environmentally but stupid project. A CIA, California Intelligence Agency, plane is now landing at Harare International Airport. New Zimbabwe hundred trillion dollars notes, like the one I have on my desk as a paperweight, will be loaded on the plane for deliverance at Sacramento. Jerry announced that the bills will be weighted and converted into US dollars. Any amount over $1,000.0 will be used on the CASA, California Aeronautics and Space Administration, for our orbiting space satellite to monitor global warming.
