Obama Blocks Offshore Driling In Arctic, Atlantic Oceans (Backstabber in Chief)

In a move that will likely be overturned promptly by the administration of Donald Trump, president Obama on Tuesday formally blocked offshore oil and gas drilling in most of the Atlantic and Arctic Ocean, responding to a call from environmentalists who say the government needs to do more to prevent drilling in environmentally sensitive areas of U.S.-controlled oceans. The president had been expected to take the action by invoking a provision in a 1953 law that governs Outer Continental Shelf offshore leases, and he did just that to block drilling in federal waters in the Arctic's Chukchi Sea and most of its Beaufort Sea. He also protected 21 underwater canyons in the Atlantic Ocean from drilling. Furthermore, Canada will block drilling in all of its Arctic Ocean acreage, a moratorium officials will review every five years, the White House said.

When the war is lost and retreating soldiers are guilty of rape, pillaging and burning upon retreat, Obama gets his last shiv in the back of America. All hail our backstabber in Chief!

There has to be a huge cabal of extremist leftists in the gov’t who keep coming up with macro-aggressions on The People for Bammy to sign. Bammy just doesn’t have the work ethic and knowledge to do this as derective coming from his lame mind. Trump has his work cut out for him.

From my take on Trump’s Cabinet picks, virtually all of them are independently wealthy from their own hard work and not a trust fund. With that said, they don’t need another job to support themselves, especially one that pays relatively so little so they all took a pay cut. Others like Carson and Perry are on record for drastic realignment or elimination of their respective departments.

What this tells me is he is putting people in charge of either cutting or dramatically downsizing the government as a whole. I’m sure they are all working very diligently on getting their action plan in place to hit the ground running after the next 30 days have transpired.

This is going to be better than a whole book of E-Tickets! But for now they would be worthless to me as I won’t patronize any Disney property.

The task will be as much rooting out the culture of arrogance and presumption just as much as a reduction in size. Otherwise it will just be back to business as usual when the pendulum swings the other way. They can’t be thinking they’re our betters and we’re here to do their will. They have to understand their jobs make then about half way between a symbiote and a parasite, and act with fitting humility.

You fail to also see these people suffer no fools. From all the crap they have had to navigate through the bureaucracy to attain success, they know exactly where to go and how to get it done. There is a very easy way to eliminate public employees within the confines they have set to themselves. I’m sure these people know the way. The exception was been those previously in charge were there for the paycheck and whatever graft came their way. They had never entertained the thought of anything like productivity, ever. Those days are very short lived.

Hey, come on, just use lots and lots of blankets to fend off those sub-zero winter temperatures.

Except in the White House, of course, where fossil fuels are still burned aplenty to keep the butt of His Royal Highness, obama, warm.

Exactly why Trump's labor secretary pick, Andrew Puzder, was a home run!

Probably best not to comment... to answer a fool is foolish. Just get the job done after he is inaugurated.

How Trump can undo this. Using the findings provided by Sheriff Joe Arpaio that Obama’s long form birth certificate, declare that Obama was an illegitimate President and that any action taken by him is hereby null & void. That would force Obama to finally prove that he was Constitutionally qualified to be President, which he obviously could not do and why he provided a bogus long form to begin with.

Same sad ending for ALL of Barry Soetoro’s “executive” orders.
Going to need a bigger bonfire on that patch of Whitehouse lawn converted to Mooschelle’s garden

Check the history on this one dating back to 1953. I think a new piece of legislation may be required to turn this one around. Of course we could claim that it was written a long time ago before a lot of today’s technology was even thought of therefore it doesn’t apply to todays explorations. Then move right on ahead doing what you want. That’s what “they” would do.

All hail our backstabber in Chief!

He's not a "backstabber" -- you can only be "stabbed in the back" by a friend or someone you trust. Obama fits neither of those categories.

Yeah, and that’s why the draining of the swamp will be long and difficult. I hope some departments (Education, EPA) are drastically reduced or closed.

I remember that when Reagan was President, he weighed in against excessive regulation. The number of pages published annually for the Federal Register dropped by something like 25 or 30%. But, as soon as he was out of office, it recovered with a vengeance. The mealy worms that permeate the regulatory agencies weren’t gone, they were just laying low.
