Makes sense. We drug test cops and politicians.

Don’t we?

Seems reasonable to me.

But the good Governor should be able to implement this rule on his own, one would think. Guess not, otherwise he wouldn’t have asked for permission.

Walker asks Trump to allow Wisconsin to drug test food stamp recipients

...and thus launch a crazy black market for clean piss!

I’m all for it as long as they have to drug test the Wisconsin legislation as well...

Easy way to thin out the libtards...

Today, we need to hold back EBT cards until a drug test is run.

Do it monthly a week or so before the EBT card is renewed on line.

If under the influence, the users are off EBT for 6 months.

The Second violation, they are off EBT for a year.

The Third violation, they are off EBT and any benefits for life.

I don’t think drug testing is proper. Too many kids take the hit. I just wish they would cut out the Gatorade and ice cream.

Seems like today would be a great day to start ordering drug tests of all state employees as well as elected and appointed officials. You can have a daily lottery to pick which employees and officials shall be tested that day just to ensure no one thinks to sneak off for a weekend trip in Colorado.

Plus you’ll have a great insight into what needs to be paid attention to in processing drug tests and false positives.

As I’m pretty consistent in saying: You first, to every rule and regulation.

If this coerces just ONE person form abstaining from drugs then it is worth it.

Call me a cynic, but I wonder how much the drug testing labs donated to get this passed? How often will they test? What is the cost of all those millions of tests (they ain’t cheap) compared to what the state will save? Did they do a cost/benefit analysis? Will the kids of drug users keep getting food stamps if the parents are kicked off? Inquiring minds want to know.

An alternative would be to give the recipients two options:

A) Receive food stamps without being subjected to drug tests. This will result in an automatic decrease of 70% from what the applicant would otherwise qualify for and will only be available for 12 months, then they’d be required to exit the program for a minimum of 36 months before being eligible to re-apply.

B) Agree to participate in the drug testing program and receive food stamps only if the test result comes back clean. Applicant must re-test a minimum of twice a year, subject to additional random tests. After 36 months the participant would be required to transition out of the program for at least the next 36 months. A dirty test will require a 36 month waiting period before being eligible to re-test and will forever ban the applicant from enrolling in the no-test program in the future.

Or something along those lines.

Drug tests are fine by me for citizens on the dole. After all, those who work are subjected to pre-employment drug tests and random drug tests.

Another issue. I'd like to see Citizenship CONFIRMED as well. Non-citizens should be denied public assistance of any kind.

Any person, elected, appointed, or impoverished, at any level of government who is compensated via taxation should be required to pass a drug test. I would also include those that practice in the ‘law’ business. Doctors, lawyers and Indian chiefs.

Constitutionally low-information Walker, probably neither Trump, seem to understand that the states have never expressly constitutionally delegated to the feds the specific power to tax and spend for vote-winning welfare purposes.

So if patriots worked with Trump to put a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes, then the states would probably find a tsunami of new revenues to pay for things like state welfare programs after candidates for such programs passed the state drug test.
