resident Obama delivered a longwinded lecture to the press on Friday about its unfair treatment of Hillary Clinton during the campaign, drawing ire from mainstream journalists.
The president, who was delivering his final 2016 news conference, implied the medias obsession with Clintons leaked emails did more damage to the former secretary of state than the Russian cyber attacks against Democratic political networks.
This was an obsession that dominated the news coverage, Obama said. So I do think it is worth us reflecting how it is that a presidential election of such importance, of such moment, with so many big issues at stake and such a contrast between the candidates came to be dominated by a bunch of these leaks.
Obama also spent much of the press conference defending his foreign policy legacy. He spoke at length about the decaying situation in Syria, conceding that while he felt personally responsible for some of the bloodshed, he still believes he did all that he could.
Journalists from outlets including the Huffington Post, MSNBC, and CNN took to Twitter to sound off their frustration with the presidents last speech of the year.

Oooo popcorn....
They practically never even admitted there was an email issue. No healthy issue, no email issue.
>mainstream journalists.
ESAD you filthy pious democrat trash.
Zero stated facts. Get over it or suck your islam.

What election news coverage was he watching?? In the mainstream media, the leaks, email, Wikileaks, etc. got far less coverage, than Trump saying “pussy”, and being charged by the liberals and media of condoning sexual assault, or Trump committing a major political crime by not releasing tax returns, or Trump being racist. The media went much easier on Hillary than Trump.
I don’t see it. The media has plenty of love for both Zippy and the witch.
Uh-oh, his lips moved again...
It what was in the emails which people found interesting. they showed us corruption, Bernie being cheated, media working with Clinton, and how the Dems looked at the voters.
All this Russia crap is about deflecting the attention of what was in those emails, and to deflect the Bernie voters .
Maybe they’ll unfriend him on Facebook. Really show him.
Sorry, 0vomit, it wasn’t the Russians who damaged Hitlery. She did that to herself. And she had plenty of help from her “friend” Podesta and everyone he emailed with.
Hmmm.... let's see... the MSM buried the email scandal, the Benghazi scandal, the pay-for-play shown in leaked emails, they bashed Trump (and supporters) every chance they got, they gave Hillary debate questions in advance, they collaborated with Hillary when printing articles and doing interviews.
Yep... their treatment was pretty unfair I would say.
Need to start focusing hard on the content of the leaked emaills again. They’ve successfully changed the discourse and moved it away from the impact of what was in them, it’s very damning of them.
Typical liberal lunacy. The tragedy espoused is not that they did it, but that they got caught.
Allright, Barry. Do you know how popular you and the media are? You’re going out of office humiliated and looking stupid, and the New York Times is having to rent out office space to keep from going down the tubes. THAT’S how popular you and the media are.
That arrogant pos is really taken in by himself, isn’t he?
Narcissist, classic example.
NBC spent their opening 5-8 minutes of the news for the past 2 nights whining about the Russians helping Trump, maybe they’ll eventually get to the Obama bashing.
‘Media unfair to hellary ‘? Is Barky completely brain dead? The MSM shilling and lying for her coupled with the fraudulent vote came scary close to getting her elected. Hope the Russians don’t hack my post-lolol
