Celebrities beg electors to be ‘heroes’ and vote against Trump

Celebrities are teaming up to beg Republicans in the Electoral College to vote against President-elect Donald Trump, pledging their “respect” for potential “heroes.”

A slew of other has-been and B- or C-list celebs have piled on, calling for 37 “conscientious Republican electors” to swing the Dec. 19 Electoral College vote away from Trump. The Republican is expected to win 306 votes — more than the 270 necessary to win — based on the results from last month’s general election.

“Republican members of the Electoral College, this message is for you,” begins a preachy Martin Sheen. “As you know, our Founding Fathers built the Electoral College to safeguard the American people from the dangers of a demagogue and to ensure that the presidency only goes to someone who is to an ’eminent degree and down with the requisite qualifications.'”

“I’m not asking you to vote for Hillary Clinton,” some in the video say — just don’t vote for Trump.

“As you know, the Constitution gives electors the right to vote for any eligible person,” a celeb in the video states.

Sheen, who played the president in the hit series “The West Wing,” whose cast campaigned for Clinton, adds: “Any eligible person — no matter which party they belong to.”

“By voting your conscience, you and other brave Republican electors can give the House of Representatives the option to select a qualified candidate for the presidency,” says Richard Schiff, who played the communications director in that show.

Nobody listened to them during the election, and nobody will listen to them now. Their belief in their abilities to influence people is overinflated.

This has Hillary/Soros fingerprints all over it

This is exactly the same snarky celebrity pitch format that Hillary Clinton used extensively in the general election.

I write plays. Part of the fun, is auditioning for the parts in your play. The actors are important, but so is the director. You might ask yourself, who is the most important person in movie? Would it be Steven Spielberg? The writers? The actors?

I contend that you need all the above, but in my mind it starts with the writer, and then it goes to a director to the actors. In that order.

Actors act. Writers write. Directors direct.

When it finally comes to expression outside of your craft, actors will act. They produce nothing. Therefore, it’s quite interesting to me, that you seldom see the director, the producer or writers, up there spouting off their beliefs, like you did with the Stage Play Hamilton.

In short, actors should never mix their craft with political expression, because in the end, it cheapens your art. I no longer see you as that character. I see you as something else...namely a belief that you put into the characters you play.

I know this is not fair, but there is a long list of great actors, whom I will not watch. Jane Fonda, Ed Asner, Sean Penn, Alec Baldwin...I’m adding the names of the people on this latest list.

Is there no one with the courage to say, that elections have consequences? The people have spoken.

Ahhh, the West Wing. I never watched Hollywood’s temper tantrum about GWB being the President. Hollywood’s Shadow Government, played out weekly on TV. Wonder what they will come up with to deal with Trump’s Presidency?? We have already had to endure Veep and Madam Secretary, preparing us for Hillary’s ascension to the throne in the WH. Cannot wait to see what they come up with now! (PS-never watched Veep or Madam Secretary either)

This title should read “Stupid Actors Try to Start a Civil War”. The comments after most of these articles are enlightening to say the least.
