a group of Trump resisters is hoping to convince 37 Trump electors to vote for someone else on Monday, taking Trump just below the magic 270 mark. If that were to happen, Trump would not become president.
The hope is to create one of two scenarios. If rogue electors vote for candidates other than Hillary Clinton, who won 232 electoral votes on Election Day, then no candidate would have 270 and the election would be thrown to the House of Representatives. If the 37, plus one more, voted for Clinton, she would reach 270 and become president.
"This election is not in the books," said Chris Suprun, a Texas Republican elector who says he will not vote for Trump, at a news conference Sunday.

No it doesn’t - if a state doesn’t send delegates that reduces the # needed to win. If, however, they all vote but vote for Kasich, the # is still 270. In the event we have massive defections and no one gets to 270, it goes to the House, which will elect Trump anyway so this is all just pointless. Only real chance would be to not only have those 37 electors defect but defect to HRC AND have zero HRC defects to Bernie or someone else.
The number “270” is based on what it takes to win if the electors vote for TWO candidates. All that is required is a majority. So if a GOP elector votes “Mitt” this just reduces the number required for Trump to 269.

The rallys need to happen in the state capitols where the voting will take place. Here in Maine we are expecting protests to convince our one EC to defect. Not going happen as it is the party chair.

And Brit Hume told us Trump’s statement was “unprecedented” in presidential politics. (And I used to think Hume was pretty smart. He’s just another dumbass talking head.)
It would be impractical for large portions of the population to go to DC. Too many have jobs.
It would be very easy to get Trump supporters in a visible location in each town and city. Imagine how happy everyone would be when they don't block traffic, break windows and burn Walgreens pharmacies.
