An iron gate with the infamous slogan Arbeit macht frei [Work will set you free] stolen from the former Nazi concentration camp Dachau in Germany two years ago has been found in Norway, the police said Friday.
The gate was recovered outside Bergen in southwestern Norway this week following an anonymous tip-off, Bergen police spokeswoman Margrethe Myrmehl Gudbrandsen told AFP.
It was found in the open air, she said. You can tell that it's been outside but it's in good condition.

Groan...
The gate was stolen? Why would anyone do that?
Collectors without scruple?
Yeah, but you’d think that even aside from the Nazi connotations people would think that maybe stealing something from a place were thousands upon thousands of people were murdered might be a horribly bad idea.
I have a sneaky suspicion that the thieves found that out and that’s why they ‘returned’ it.
It was probably stolen by Muslims who wanted to refurbish it so that they could put it on a new camp they are planing to build
Sounds like one of Clinton or Obama's campaign slogans...
Their slogans would be more like “sit back, relax, snowflakes.....we gotcha covered”
Customs: “Where did you get that gate piece and what is it for?”
Passenger: “I bought it at a garage sale to keep the birds out of my yard.”
Welfare macht frei
Stolen by muslums?
I heard when the one from Auschwitz was stolen, all the authorities had to do was follow the tracks in the snow. The sign has been replaced by a reproduction, so the next time whoever steals it, will be stealing a fake.
Maybe they confused Bergen, Norway, with Bergen-Belsen.
