Internal emails show that city and state officials blame a North Carolina law limiting LGBT protections for a companys decision to pick another state for a new project that includes 700 jobs.
The Charlotte Observer reports it obtained emails showing the law known as HB2 was cited as a key factor in CoStar Groups decision not to put its hub in Charlotte.

What happened? We’re people fired uneed the law?
I have to admit the NC law is bad economics. Businesses want to be open to everyone
If this company was so concerned about some social issue rather than the financial consequences to the stockholders, they should be sued for breach of fiduciary responsibilities.
If they were more concerned about some made up issue by the fags et al, hopefully they will relo to San Fran, Austin, or Atlanta.
So the Kleins should have baked the cake?
No, money isn’t everything in life
It was sparked by Charloote’s in your face decision to pass a law stating that you HAVE to allow the gender confused access to whatever pot they wanted to piss in.
The HB@ law stopped that. As it should have.
NOTHING in the law says that a company can’t opt to allow it...its just not going to mandated to do so.
And these morons know it. They just choose to make a point.
Good.
As a NC resident, screw ‘em.
You find a lot of wealthy, cossetted people on boards. They attend university parties and consider themselves “socially aware.” The most important aspect to them is that their social life, not the good of the company.
Hillary Clinton served on the boards of several companies I was invested in or considering investment in. So have other Democratic luminaries. A highly placed company officer explained it to me this way. If some green group of social justice group suddenly targets you, those people (the Clintons and their like) make a phone call and the issue goes away. That’s why we pay them $50-150k per year.
Companies do not like being the target of a community organizer or ACORN type groups. Just one person like that on your board will guarantee you won’t contribute to conservative causes or back marriage between a man and a woman.
“I have to admit the NC law is bad economics”
Really. Do you think that opening a company up to suits based upon some perceived violation of some non issue is bad economics? I know of few companies who as a matter of routine discriminate against individuals. These laws impose specious requirements. Filing and defending suits based on perceived slights or discrimination has become a cottage industry and a new cost of doing business. I see no reason to support those laws.
Someday...probably soon...the parents of a 7 year old girl are gonna sue a major corporation (perhaps McDonalds) for billions for having allowed a Level 3 kiddie porn sex offender who "identifies" as female into their ladies' room only to have him take photos of her with his iPhone.
Then watch how quickly things change.
“Businesses want to be open to everyone...”
They can be, right? The NC law gives businesses the choice if they want to allow men in their women’s exclusive facilities. The Charlotte ordinance forced businesses within Charlotte to allow men in their women’s exclusive areas, even if they didn’t want to do that for some strange reason. The NC law gave the choice back to businesses in Charlotte. Target and Trump can allow men into the women’s areas if they want to do so on their properties in NC. Call up a Target in NC, ask about their transgender policy.
The NC law also requires people to use publicly owned facilities per the sex on their birth certificate. I know it is insane but the taxpayers of NC voted for pols that have the backward idea that men and women are different and should use the proper facility no matter if they think they are something else.
Freegards
I agree but there is a cost. Many companies want to kiss up to that crowd by making a statement that they are against NC.
Sort of what kelloggs is doing
The appropriate response is to do what the left does - punish these companies that try to impose politics on a population.
Yeah believing in God and morality comes at a price- cowards cave- Soldiers for the moral law stand firm
you mean keeping FREAKS out of whatever bathroom they feel like entering?
We used to dream about going to the moon. Now we dream about mutilated men using the women’s room.

Indeed there is a cost. Looks like we are stuck with Ol’ Roy...wasn’t that a cheap dog food?
I was shocked to learn that some supposedly moderate Republicans voted against McCrory because of that law. Because of the “economic implications” Bottom line shortsightedness, imho.
Trump carries the state, Burr easily wins but McCrory is defeated? A real wtf moment for me.
Are you kidding? How is a business not open to everyone simply because the womens’ bathroom is for women only?! Where is there anything limiting the business itself to anyone?
