I have to admit the NC law is bad economics. Businesses want to be open to everyone
You find a lot of wealthy, cossetted people on boards. They attend university parties and consider themselves “socially aware.” The most important aspect to them is that their social life, not the good of the company.
Hillary Clinton served on the boards of several companies I was invested in or considering investment in. So have other Democratic luminaries. A highly placed company officer explained it to me this way. If some green group of social justice group suddenly targets you, those people (the Clintons and their like) make a phone call and the issue goes away. That’s why we pay them $50-150k per year.
Companies do not like being the target of a community organizer or ACORN type groups. Just one person like that on your board will guarantee you won’t contribute to conservative causes or back marriage between a man and a woman.
The appropriate response is to do what the left does - punish these companies that try to impose politics on a population.

Money versus child safety and guess which wins? This whole fight over who gets to use which bathroom is ridiculous. You are what you are, so use the appropriate restroom.
So, why don't they try for convincing a homosexual pornography studio to move into the middle of downtown Charlotte?
Maybe they could invoke Kelo v New London and take the Billy Graham Library under eminent domain. They could tear it down, build a bonfire with the wood, have a 'gay pride' parade (complete with public sex) to dedicate the site, and then build their porn studio on site. Surely that would bring NC some more jobs!
I mean, why don't they just dedicate the entire state to Satan? Maybe that would bring jobs, too.
