A Mexican lawmaker says Carriers deal with President-elect Donald Trump keeping about 1,000 manufacturing jobs in the U.S. will only hurt the air conditioning giant.
The implications are very serious, not only for Nuevo Leon, but for Carrier, Sen. Marcella Guerra said Wednesday of Carriers decision and its impact on her state, according to The Associated Press.
The one who is going to suffer from this is the company because their products are going to be more expensive. I understand the fight, because it is same fight all we politicians carry out.
Trumps team and Carrier announced late Tuesday they had reached an agreement to halt nearly 1,000 jobs in Indiana from leaving for Mexico. Carrier previously announced in March it would shutter a plant in Indianapolis, effectively eliminating 1,400 U.S. jobs. . .

USA!
Not too many companies that make those products. They're their own best competitor. Made in USA still counts.
Americans will buy them.
Nothing’s quite as corrupt as a Mexican politician. Cram a taco in it lady.
Will Mexican Oreo cookies be next?
Mexico should have to comply with some of our standards — osha, EPA, labor laws, etc. they can get back to us later.
That's the key. What was a good, solid, profit margin twenty years ago went out the window when Clinton was elected and went whole hog talking up the "opportunities" in China. Opportunities they'd make sure you benefited from if the right member of the Clinton mob had their palm greased which in turn got that same palm greased by well laundered Chinese money and a rush of China buying US Treasuries.
Of course Bill felt every ones pain, he engineered it, refined ways to increase it, and was making a ton of money from inflicting that pain. Bubble on top of bubble while the real assets were destroyed or moved out of the country..
Far better to spend a few million making nicer offices and treats for management than to spend that same money upgrading or replacing US plants and equipment, that was the philosophy.
The US has been run by traitors or companies wouldn't be basing their decisions on how best to shaft American workers by replacing them with foreign workers in new plants they built overseas after carefully avoiding upgrading or replacing their plants here for decades. The whole concept of investing in something has gone out the window and manipulating figures to drive share prices for those paid in stock options has replaced it. Now destroying the company is a praiseworthy thing if the company shares ran up first.
JMHo
I’ll buy USA before foreign unless it’s a car that I REALLY like, like the 350z I had.
Other than that, it’s been Novas, Colts, firebird, Camaro z28 convertible, black in/out leather interior :)
oh no....not more winning...I can't take anymore! ;-)
Haters gonna hate...
“Made in USA” can be a selling point to offset higher price. More efficient production methods can reduce cost of labor without lowering wages, thereby making lower prices doable. Thanks for the advice, though, Mexico.
One of my furnaces just quit. I will make sure I buy a Carrier. Just like Chic-fil-et. I’ll make it a point to go out of my way to support my fellow American and ~!56&%&())(%$**&)*_ anyone else.
My name is Marcia. It means War Hammer. But everyone just calls me Battle Axe.
Trump’s free publicity also helps :)
Ah, no, don't say that. It's too early to give up. Just take a deep breath, relax a little, and you will fortify yourself for the long four years of winning that are still ahead. Remember, just take it one win at a time, and you will be fine.
Mexican official: Carrier will suffer by keeping jobs in US>>>>>>>>>>>
Yes, but for a very short time.
Every US gov federal office has A/C.
And soon Mexico will suffer as the heroine and cocaine crossing our Southern border will come to a dead halt.
Those days are gone amigo.
Nice!!!!!!!!!!
They're not going to be any more expensive than they were. They're profit margin just won't be as high
I do like Trumps analogy on a toaster built here or overseas. He stated that while a $10 toaster may be an attractive price point for many Americans, it is unobtainable to a family with no income. A $40 toaster may be a discretionary price point for many Americans, but at least they would have an income to save and buy one.
At some point the idea of globalism became "Screw the American people if they don't like us making more money." While I support capitalism, it is not practiced widely outside of this country.
If people continue to run their business without the consideration of sustaining the infrastructure that makes capitalism possible, American freedom, they are being irresponsible custodians of the blessings we have. Now it is a matter of survival. People who place us all at risk will be challenged and yes, if one places us at risk they may get a very public @ss whupping in response.
The left has spent a lot of effort to remove "American values" away from the concept of "American freedom". They are about to be "re-educated" and many are not going to like it. America first, M@F@s...
