Chip and Joanna Gaines Under Fire For 'Wrong' Views on LGBT Issues

Like many Americans, HGTV stars Chip and Joanna Gaines attend a church where the pastor thinks homosexual behavior is a sin.

And somehow that’s “news.”

BuzzFeed printed the original story, headlined “Chip And Joanna Gaines’ Church Is Firmly Against Same-Sex Marriage.” From there it was picked up by Cosmopolitan, Us Weekly, and my favorite, Jezebel.

Why?

Now to be clear, the Gaineses aren’t even quoted in the original BuzzFeed story. We have no idea what they personally think about same-sex marriage. In fact, a spokesperson for the Antioch Community Church where the Gaineses attend, specifically tells BuzzFeed “she could not speak for Chip and Joanna Gaines on same-sex marriage.”

So we don’t know for sure what the Gaineses’ beliefs are on same-sex marriage. (And incidentally, this attitude it’s news that something like a pastor at a Christian church preaching that same-sex marriage isn’t OK is exactly the kind of out-of-touchness that helped create a climate where Donald Trump could become president.) But here’s the clincher: The couple, whose popular HGTV show is called “Fixer Upper,” has fans that may not agree with their views on same-sex marriage!

it doesn’t appear that the Gaineses have featured a same-sex couple on their show. (I haven’t seen every show, but I’m unaware of any time they have featured a same-sex couple.) I don’t know why they haven’t. But one thing to keep in mind is … maybe not a lot of same-sex couples have even applied to be on the show? After all, as Gallup pointed out in 2015, fewer than 4 percent of Americans identify as LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender).

Then Buzzfeed should watch House Hunters. Every other show has a same sex couple.

Very enjoyable show that makes Waco, Texas look like a little piece of paradise. They have found and renovated houses for couples old, young, and mixed race, and enjoy a beautiful ranch for the raising of their four kids. Honestly, though, watch and if you're male you'll spend a lot of viewing time just gazing at Joanna Gaines.

This suppression of free speech (political correctness as described by Nigel Farage) by the media reminds me as I think that our media (in terms of 1930’s Germany) really isn’t so much a Joseph Goebbels media (Propaganda Ministry) as it is a Heinrich Himmler media (Gestapo).

The Gestapo media are trying to “virtually arrest” the public lives of people and put them in “virtual concentration camps” for their views.
