The Hollywood Christmas Parade was technically first held in 1928, ... Comedian Joe E. Brown was the first grand marshal in 1932, a role later filled by luminaries such as Bob Hope, Gene Autry and Jimmy Stewart, among others.
Wow. That an unbeatable line up. I like to see this years if they could do it with out politics.
I don’t think politics ever intrudes on the Hollywood Christmas Parade. It’s pretty old-school.
Uh, RULES!
Remember? Her boyfriend faked his own death to disappear from her.
Good!!!!
Back in the days of Yor we used to call her Olivia Neutron Bomb.
wow I am surprised they haven’t yet changed it to Hollywood Atheist Day Parade
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce runs it, I believe, and they’re traditionalists. The late Johnny Grant, the group’s leader, definitely was.
I believe California can be turned around. Just have to deal with the illegals and our broken educational system
Did they ever find him? Didn't ONJ turn into another PETA-loving vegan?
I'll still never forget her in "Xanadu". The music won awards. The movie won turkeys despite Gene Kelly in the cast.
Joe E. Brown was a big Pittsburgh Pirates guy. Well, nobody’s perfect.
I can’t believe they allow something ostensibly Christian in such a non Christian town
Like holding a nativity procession in Monsey NY
And that is their choice actually
Hollywood unlike Monsey is openly hostile to Christianity
He’s living in Mexico,
Olivia said in an interview that she tried being vegetarian, but gave it up, and now eats chicken and fish. More of a dietary thing of a cancer survivor.
Thanks for the heads-up!
Around 2000 when I first moved to LA, I went to this parade only one time because a celebrity friend of mine was riding in it. He recognized and waved to a friend and me in the crowd. The parade circled around and came back via Sunset where the parade paused for some reason. We actually walked out to his car that was stopped in the middle of the street and chatted. These days we’d have been dragged away by security before we got to the car.
