Decades ago, I heard the very handsome Julio Iglesias sing "Begin the Beguine" in a concert venue with thousands in the audience. He didn't "croon" the song this particular time....he didn't hold back belting out the song with such strength, passion and tonal talent that he brought down the house. I'll never forget that performance.

I'm so grateful to you for posting the link to another one of his renditions of this wonderful Porter song...and I hope that others click on the link to hear some REAL SINGING! You'll be rewarded if you do !

Tonight is dedicated to another of Cole’s signature tunes. As Cole and Moss Hart were collating the songs for their musical, Moss realized that they lacked a song for the second act. Cole knocked this one out in the course of an evening.

DORIS DAY: “JUST ONE OF THOSE THINGS”

Doris sang this classic in two Hollywood musicals: “Lullaby of Broadway” in 1951, and “Young at Heart” in 1954. This is a 1951 clip. You can see how Doris started out as a dancer before turning to song. This version is cute, perky – and completely misses the point.
