What would happen if conservatives started to change the words we use for political ends?
Throughout history, revolutionaries of all stripes have warped the meaning of words to subvert reality.
And now here we go again, with another effort

Good idea!
One term that conservatives should adopt is the term "preborn" instead of "unborn" because it's more accurate.
Many computer apps have an "undo" button, but in order to undo anything, it must first be done, so an unborn person would have to be pushed back into the womb.
Use "preborn" instead.

Classic essay on the same subject by the author of famous novel, 1984.
pro-choice
Originally, it was pro-abortion and anti-abortion, but the pros didn’t want it to be so blatant, so they went with pro-choice, shifting the frame from the baby to the mother’s right to decide about her own body.
The antis preferred being seen as for something rather than against something, so they went to pro-life. It’s all a matter of manipulation. See also the morphing of dole to welfare to public assistance. It’s everywhere.
Of course, if you get into the habit of calling everything as you see it, you’ll be labeled as sexist, racist, homophobic, bigoted and uncaring. Take your pick.
As for me, no matter how cynical I get, it’s never enough.
It is a subset of the wealthy billionaires that are the problem. Some are content to enjoy their lives and leave everyone else alone. The “problem” billionaires are the ones who seek political and economic power and control of media outlets to crowd out opposition views.
The donors to the Clinton Foundation are a good starting list of the “bad” billionaires.
The latest word is “nationalist” with heavy overtones of racism and fascism. I care about my country, therefore I am a nationalist.
Another one I can’t stand is “redistribution”, which is used with the wealth. There is no such thing as re-distribution, because there is no distribution to begin with.
They dont really use the word liberal all that much any more because they have strayed so far from its roots. Now its progressive.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The bible speaks well of “liberals”. You know, people who love God and their fellow man.
Just another word that socialists/communists have perverted.
Rationality (normalcy) is respecting each individual as an equal human being, until he commits an act to betray & forfeit that trust.
"Affirmative action" = elevating individuals based on arbitrary minority / genetic categories, for political purposes.
Meritocracy is recognizing an individual contributor's outstanding work, & promoting him to a position of greater responsibility.
Then you can put their words in quotation marks and parentheses and use our words straight up.
Ping me next week when I’m home for several good links on the subject.
Yes—totalitarians are now calling themselves “progressives.”
Morality and common sense are now called “extremism” and people who defend the right to dissent are now “fascists.”
And people with penii and X-Y chromosomes are now “women.”
Uh—don’t look now, but they’re already calling you a “nazi” or a “fascist.”
My advice: stop calling yourself —or allowing anyone else to call you—”right wing.” Along with “extremist” that’s an epithet the lefty totalitarians hung on anyone with traditional ideals of morality or patriotism.
