Jeff Sessions may prosecute ‘sanctuary cities’ if confirmed as attorney general

Sen. Jeff Sessions is on record saying so-called sanctuary cities that protect illegal immigrants should be prosecuted. He himself may get that chance next year.
Mr. Sessions is president-elect Donald Trumps pick to be the next attorney general, and if hes confirmed a very large if, at this point he will mark a 180-degree turn from the Obama administration on a host of issues, but nowhere more so than on immigration, where hes been the Senates leading crackdown proponent.
From his first day in office, Mr. Sessions will have the power to strip some federal funding from sanctuary cities, thanks to rulings this year by the Justice Departments inspector general, who said federal law requires localities to cooperate with immigration agents and who provided an initial list of a handful of the worst offenders.
The sanctuary cities thing is huge. I think most jurisdictions are going to fold like a cheap suit, said Rosemary Jenks, government relations manager at NumbersUSA, which lobbies for stricter immigration laws.

LaRaza and other advocates of illegal aliens are about to go ballistic when Sen. Sessions becomes an AG that will enforce existing law.

Defund them and prosecute.
Interesting that the anti-”States Rights” folks are now saying cities should be able to ignore federal law.

Yay!!!
Haven’t used that word in a LONG TIME.
Not very manly but it’s the only one that came to mind! :)

Well ... are sanctuary cities violating federal law?
Oh — they are?
Then why wouldn’t you prosecute them?

the prayers of California answered.
But there must be deportation as well or this is nothing more than a brief interlude before the country is as doomed as California is now.

Lock the Clinton's up!
I bet Hillary will really start to pull that
Parkinson's Disease sick routine when
Sessions goes after her. But she'll get off.
No one is going to put a sick 70 year old woman in jail.

I would cut the funds and quash all injunctions to restore while in litigation and then defend the lawsuits brought by the cities while dragging them out forever
