President-elect Donald Trump’s children say they want no official role in their dad’s administration, but his team has reportedly asked the White House about getting them top-secret security clearances.
The Trump transition team has asked the White House to explore the possibility of getting his adult children top secret security clearances, CBS News reported.
The report did not name which children he’s seeking for the clearance for, but his oldest kids, Donald Jr., Eric and Ivanka, were often on the campaign trail for him and served as his advisers.
While government rules bar Trump from giving his children White House jobs, the report said they could be designated unpaid national security advisers.
They would need to fill out security questionnaires and submit to background checks to receive the government clearances.
Trump’s sons — Don Jr. is 38 and Eric 32 — have said they would continue to work in the family’s Trump Organization business.

Even if the 3 Trump children were granted top secret clearance, it does NOT give them the authority or permission to walk into State Dept or Dept of Defense and access any top secret material to benefit their business needs.
I have some idea how top secret clearance works since I was cleared for top secret clearance for a few years at my job. That clearance does NOT give one permission to access any top secret documents or attend any top secret meeting, unless it is STRICTLY on NEED TO KNOW basis. Which therefore means that even if Don Jr, Eric & Ivanka were cleared for top secret, they can not simply access anything they want, which is not expressly required of them.
Anyhow, news out today says no such clearance has been asked for those 3. This is nothing more than inventing bogus issues to attack President-Elect Trump.
Because the President is the head of the Executive Branch which is the granter of Security Clearances. The man who grants doesn't need to grant one for himself. That's a given.
That said, if Bath house Barry had to apply for a Clearance the way the rest of us did, he wouldn't have been granted an interim Confidential.
