For his free meal on Veterans Day, Ernest Walker picked the Chili's Grill & Bar in Cedar Hill. The 47-year-old sat at a table and ordered a burger while his service dog, Barack, waited by his side.
Chili's is apologizing for what happened next.
As Walker tells it, an elderly white man wearing a Donald Trump shirt approached him and said that he was in Germany and that blacks weren't allowed to serve there. Walker, who is black, says he was wearing his old Army uniform.
The man walked to the back of the restaurant, Walker says, and a waitress came to pack his leftovers. Then a manager showed up.
In a widely shared Facebook post, Walker wrote that the manager claimed another guest said Walker was not "a real soldier" because he was wearing his hat indoors. Walker said he provided a military ID at the manager's request, along with his discharge papers. . .The manager couldn't be reached for comment Sunday. He has been put on leave, KXAS-TV (NBC5) reports.
One of Walker's attorneys, Kim Cole, said in an email that officials with Chili's and its parent company, Brinker International, apologized to Walker via phone Monday. . .

I don’t care if a guy is black brown white or purple, if they served, of if they are simply a customer, you treat them with respect.
I get downright angry when customers are abused.
Customers can get out of line too though, and that angers me too, when it’s with a good worker or manager.
Liberals are cruising for a real bruising these days.
Good for you.
This story has a bad smell about it. Blacks have been serving in Germany since WW2. My wife spent 11 years living there in the 50’s and early 60’s, and saw many black servicemen esp. in Heidelberg and West Berlin.
At age 47, this “veteran” is either crazy, has Dementia, or is a liar re what he claimed the Trump supporter reportedly said.
LOL!!!
There was no "guy in a Trump shirt". It's a lie.
Ok, no trump shirt, that’s fine. Still, why make your way into someone else’s business!
The dog’s name was Barack, so it was either out playing golf, or on vacation. <<<<<<<<<
LOL, glad I wasn’t drinking coffee when I read this!!!
Don’t believe any of this story. More agit-prop from the far left.
Good for you. I can imagine the jerk complaining about your treatment of him around his girlfriend. I can imagine her telling him to get lost too.
Considering Truman integrated the military, that would have to be a pretty old guy...
I think this black thug is lying.
Good move, Chili's
Its’ a good thing you didn’t take him to the parking lot. He might have spit on you and contaminated you with the HIV / AIDs virus and you might have ended up in jail after he cried and whined to police. Just depends on where you’re at. Some police would just walk knowing the punk deserved it and not even taken a report on it; especially if they ran the guy’s background and found quite a bit of history which those types of places attract as employees.
Well the way the story is written it’s hard to understand. The left are definitely putting a lot of BS stories out there lately pretending to come from sources on the right. Typically they’ve done it from the left’s perspective but I have noticed they are starting to write the BS stories from the right pretending to be from what appears to be legitimate source when they’re not (i.e. as in Trump said this or that and said nothing of the kind, or an alleged Trump supporter showing up at one of the protests to “kick some a**”...yeah sure, or some other thing a Trump supporter would never do)
It sounds like the other vet found something odd in the uniform. There have been many cases of “stolen valor” ticking off real vets. Anybody can put on a uniform, but fakers don’t get them quite right. I can see some overzealous real vet in a bar getting ticked about what he thinks is a faker on Veteran’s Day and convincing a manager.
What are the chances that this one is fake like all the other "hate crimes" reported by #BlackThugsMatter? My guess - 100%.
Good for you!
Don’t like the “free stuff” on Veterans Day and have never taken advantage of it (24-year Navy vet). It should all go away. Service to the country was, and is, its own reward. Active duty in uniform are a different story — they should be comped any day at any time, at proprietors’ discretion.
This story has some holes. Most of the outrage is based on what Walker said happened, and a video of about 1 minute near the end of the incident.
1. Where is the guy with the Trump Shirt?
2. Did this guy really say no Blacks serve in Germany? We are only hearing on side here.
3. Did this guy really sign up at 16 in the late 80s, during peacetime?
4. He served 2 years and got out when he was 18? Who serves only two years?
5. Why is he wearing BDUs like they are a pair of pajamas? He is a civilian and he is not subjected to military regulations, but I know of no Vet that does this.
6. Wearing a cover in a place wear people eat? I guess some vets do this.
7. What was said before between the manager and before he turned on his camera?
I actually still wonder if this man was really a vet. He claims and yells that he showed his papers, but do we even know what they say?
The manager showed very poor judgement, and should learn to pick his fights a little better. Once you give someone something you shouldn’t rip it out of their hands.
