Maybe it is all about a shot across the bow to the Clintoons. HBO not hearing or getting what he wants for quid pro quo pardon; so he’s raising the stakes to them.

And mentally, he's a sophomore. Smarter than everybody else, knows everything.
He only tolerated the Clintons insofar as the Clintons could help him. Now he can cut them loose. That’s why I don’t think he will pardon Clinton because if he did so, he would forever be tied to them. He wants to wash his hands of them entirely, a la Pontius Pilate.

He is right. Trump simply outworked her and would not be denied
Hussein had the advantage there. He was physically healthy and capable of campaigning strenuously.
Whining or scolding. He is pissed because he will have to pardon her, now. Legacy and all that stuff.
There's a lot more damaging things he could do than toot his horn. For example, he could spend time legitimizing the violent leftist professional protests. Or, he could unveil his "last weeks" regulatory initiative.
If he wants to toot his horn, and diss Hillary at the same time, that's fine by me.
