The appearance of Confederate flags along the route of Fridays Petaluma Veterans Day parade has sparked outrage among some viewers, including San Rafael Rep. Jared Huffman.
It was just so out of place that I had to do a double-take, said Huffman, who appeared in the parade riding an old WWII-era Jeep with Petaluma resident Steve Countouriotis, a decorated war hero.

Confederate flags are a part of history with families who had veterans, they need to get over their PC crap

The Confederate Flag is a part of our country’s history. I doesn’t necessarily mean racism. Notice, the left thinks nothing of flying their favorite flags, as in Rainbow, Mexican, Palestinian or BLM.
To: artichokegrower
We should order Confederate flags by the tens of thousands and shove them in their faces.
Let it be known, the days of pulling that routine are done.
It ends right here!

If a bunch of fags can raise their rainbow banner, the Sons of the South can certainly raise theirs. Fly it high and proud.

And Mexican flags exhibited at various venues lately have offended meUntil about ten years ago I lived in Petaluma. A few months before I fled, a Mexican nationalist demonstration marched within a couple blocks of my house. Along with floods, earthquakes and being outvoted 3:1 by communist hippies, that was one of the reasons I fled.

Bring back the teaching of American history and government .... before it is erased from the hearts and minds of her children. Otherwise ...... They will never know from whence they came.

I’m sure Loyalists had flags too, but I doubt anyone was ever stupid enough to fly one after we won the Revolutionary War.
To: artichokegrower
Ever since the end of the Civil War, Confederates have been acknowledged as American soldiers, American veterans.
If the left doesn't like it, they can go screw.

Pfft...The dead at the Alamo and Goliad pale in comparison to the 4 years the confederacy existed.

Not only the Mexican flag but the hammer and sickle have been displayed without stimulating much comment but the Confederate flag gives them the vapors.

Loyalists tended to use the “United Empire” flag, which looks like a union jack sans the Irish saltire. The 17th British dragoons employed the skull and crossbones, and some loyalists serving alongside them may have adopted that as well. Otherwise they weren’t a terribly imaginative bunch when it came to flags — or rather, there isn’t much record of what any of their flags looked like.
