Leslie Wimes, the president of the Democratic African-American women's caucus, joins MSNBC's Hallie Jackson to discuss the Clinton campaign being in "panic mode" about low voter enthusiasm in the black community.
WIMES: When I said that in September that the enthusiasm level for African-Americans as far as Hillary Clinton's campaign was not there, I was right. They were wrong. They didn't want anyone to know they were in panic mode.
HALLIE JACKSON, MSNBC: There is nothing she can do?
WIMES: Oh, no. It's over now as far as the African-American community is concerned. She had time back then to get into the community and get people out to vote. There's nothing she can do now.
As far as bringing in all of the surrogates, I said then that wasn't going to get the African-American community to the polls. It didn't work. What she can do now is hope the Hispanic community can carry her over the top...I don't see it happening.
...With the Hispanic community it isn't as sure of a bet. They could go Republican. They could go Democrat.
JACKSON: There are still 7 days left. You don't think it's enough to do something to make a last ditch effort?
WIMES: No. What I said before is she didn't have the luxury of being Barack Obama. We are not as enthusiastic about seeing the first woman president as we were about seeing the first African-American. So, no. I don't think in 7 days she'll get out there and all of a sudden, magically we'll say, 'hey, Hillary Clinton!' It's not going to happen. She had an opportunity to get out there and do the things she needed to do and she didn't do it.

I know a lot of stand up black guys that took care of me in and out of the hospital the past 11 years. They’re good guys.
We just need many MORE to step up. MANY more.
They’re trying to make this a race issue, but Hillary has serious enthusiasm problems across just about every voting block in this country.
Just because they don’t go to vote for Hillary doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t have a vote counted in their names.

I overheard a black Hillary campaign supporter say the same thing after the first presidential debate at Hofstra.
“I don’t think in 7 days she’ll get out there and all of a sudden, magically we’ll say, ‘hey, Hillary Clinton!’”
There is no chance of that given her obvious criminality. In a truly just society she’d be publicly hung for treason if convicted on any of several of her seeming offenses. She has likely caused immeasurable damage to this country.

Today I heard what I thought was a stupid RNC ad in Florida: “do you want to see the bad consequence of Obama on the Supreme court. Vote early for Trump.”
This kind of ad gets blacks angry and racialy defensive... would motivate them to vote Hillary
Both Hillary Clinton & her “surrogates” are politically dying on the vine!!! Her political rallies, across the board, are total failures with few supporters showing up to attend. She really gets small & uninspired, support from her surrogates who in most instances, get smaller rally crowds then she does, sometimes, less then 100 people show up. Compared To Donald J. Trump, who gets massive supportive crowds, numbering in the thousands at every single political rally, Clinton is truly a total loser.
IMHO.......not only will many African-Americans stay home and not vote for HIllary Clinton, come election day....but, many Blacks will give their votes to Donald J. Trump. Trump will get at least 16-25% of the African-American vote and, between 25-35% of the Hispanic vote. Fact is: both Obama & Clinton have done little to improve the lives of these folks, who have been isolated in poverty zone plantations by Obama, Clinton, the Democrat party, th CBC & the NAACP. Bottom line....the Obama/Clinton magic with minorities is no more!!!

I’ve been saying for months, that blacks won’t turn out for Hillary in the numbers she needs them to, to win.
Like Ms Wimes says, Hillary had ample time to build real support in that community, but like most Dems, she took them for granted.
She seriously miscalculated her level of real support among blacks, which is much, much lower than it was for Obama, and even lower than for any typical Democrat.
And now she will pay for her hubris.

I was interested to see that in Arizona (granted not a real high percentage of AAs) Trump was evenly splitting their vote with Hilliary.
The woman was head of the Black Democrat Caucus but not so ideological that she didn’t make a lot of sense. When it comes to winning the “small game,” the tactics of winning — she’d be one worth listening to.
She had previously warned that Hillary “needed to engage” — visit the black communities back in September, now it’s too late.
Compare that with what Trump has done. He is the first “Republican” in a long time to make a genuine effort in the Black community and it’s paying off. He sincerely cares what’s going on and that is being picked up.
Take the homeless black person on Hollywood Blvd who was being bullied. What was on her sign that the Mexican thug tore up — a handwritten message about immigration.
She was counting on the media and the hispanics, women and blacks to vote huge.
The blacks didn’t go for it this time.
And Trump came along and white guys with high school degrees (almost all of my friends) are insane about him and will turn out in HUGE numbers!!! good!!
No one in the entire universe could have forged a POTUS/VP ticket worse and more incompetent & boring then Hilllary Clinton & Tim Kaine!!! Ms. Clinton has no MoJo of likeability whatsoever, and Tim Kaine is a full blown “zero” Bozo!!! The Democrat Party & Barack Hussein Obama ought to be ashamed of themselves. These two useless people ar a disgrace to their political party, the American people and the great American nation, itself!!!
