Minnesota high schoolers have spoken, and they’re choosing Donald Trump. Trump clinched a narrow win over Hillary Clinton in the first round of results in the inaugural statewide mock election for high school students, run by Secretary of State Steve Simon’s office. About 77,000 students from 213 high schools filled out ballots for U.S. President.

More high schools are holding their mock elections in the coming days, so results will be updated, the Secretary of State’s office said in a release Tuesday.

Sounds to me like the voting isn't over and that Trump only leads at this point, or am I missing something?

Oy, I respect Beener.
I enjoy me some Curry chicken. It’s awesome with garlic bread.

I hope you are not as willing to overlook glaring errors in aircraft design or medicine.

May Ganesh bless you with many peanuts.

Check out the votes by school district on the website.

Trump wins by 2:1, 3:1, even 4:1 margins through most of the state, but Minneapolis and St Paul schools go heavily to Clinton.

Maybe someone familiar with the Twin Cities area can shed more light on turnout, which schools are in affluent areas, etc.?

My granddaughters here in MN both say that all the kids are supporting Trump. Every person I’ve talked to over the last few weeks say that they are voting for Trump, and all of them really like Pence as well. I have my doubts about Trump’s ability to win MN, but I’m sure he will make it a much closer race than either McCain or Romney.

Trump is up big the Iron Range, where most MN elections are tilted to or stolen for the Democrats.

It could be an interesting Election Day.

One other thing...most election cycles the Star & Sickle regularly reminds its readers how far ahead the democrat is in MN.

This year, the polls are few and far between.

I would think that would come from at home. Often kids think along the lines of their parents at least until college, and if they don’t, it seems they go liberal. If this reflects back on the parents, this could portend well for Trump in Minnesota.

Some patches of Minnesota are deeply conservative.

Biden was up in Duluth a few days ago (St. Louis County) to help Nolan. It had the highest margin of any county in MN for Kerry against Bush. If they are sending the VP to shore up the most Democrat County in Minnesota you know they are hurting.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election_in_Minnesota,_2004#By_county

St. Louis - Kerry 65.2% 77,958 Bush 33.5% 40,112 Others 1.3% 1,495

Don’t let “humblegunner” get under your skin. He treats everybody like crap. Just ignore him because he will eventually pass out from too much booze.

This is the state that I thought would be much closer than people would think, Trump might even win. Reasons:

1) Obamacare premiums up about 70%
2) Population is something like 95% white
3) there is an aging industrial base
4) Democrat complacency, there is no election for Governor or Senate this year.

All those Minnesotans seeing an outrageous increase in their Obamacare rates - totally the fault of Gov. Mark Dayton and the Democrats - should run as fast as they can from Hillary. Dayton now wants Republicans in the Minnesota House to help solve his problem.

It's considered good form to ping a person when you mention them.
I guess N00b school doesn't cover that anymore.

Doing otherwise kind of makes you a weak little scared pussy cat.
