The results of the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections have shown that whoever wins Loudon County wins Virginia. The county in the past 16 years has seen significant growth of the Indian-American community, mainly on account of the emergence of an IT corridor near the Dulles Airport.
There were 1,200 Indian-Americans in 2000, which increased to 12,000 in 2010. The number is estimated to have jumped to 30,000 in 2016. The neighboring Fairfax County too has an estimated 20,000 strong Indian-American community members.

Yes, right! Hindus tend to be vegetarians and don’t like to hurt a fly — won’t even eat plants from underground like a potato since it disturbs the earth. Yet don’t go sharia and try to force that view on others. Never hear of them going whackjob and turn suicide bomber due to their faith.

Diwali celebrates the coming of the Light of God into our lives, and the dispelling of spiritual darkness. Like ALL Hindu celebrations it is an external representation of an aspect or activity of the ONE God.
I wish that there was consistent Republican outreach to the large and growing Ethiopian community in Northern Virginia - mostly hard-working, family-oriented, church-going Christians.
Like Cubans, many experienced real communism back in the old country. Cubans have been about the most solidly Republican demographic.
With Obama’s economy, not a big shot, still recovering from Bush financial fiasco (2007-2008).
Need change from Bush(establishment) and Obama(Marxist).
There are 2,500,000 Hindu’s legally in US. After 5 years on legal immigrant status (aka green card) they become eligible for US Citizenship.
Total number of H1-B visa workers from ALL countries is estimated to be under 100,000.
Just keeping track of actual numbers and therefore probability of many more citizens than H1-B visa holders should be very high.
