The U.S. presidential campaign and issues raised by nominees Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are evidence that “spirituality and faith are lacking among those in power” in America, Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei declared on Wednesday.
Speaking to university students, Khamenei addressed what an official website paraphrased as “the difficulties and problems perplexing mankind today, and the dead-ends that materialistic thought patterns sustain.”
He told his audience, “The campaigns held during presidential elections in the U.S. and the worries conveyed by the two candidates are a clear example that spirituality and faith are lacking among those in power.” …

What the heck is the Ayatollah talking about, no faith? Hillary thinks she is god the way so many people have died at her hand so how much more faith can she have?

It was sobering because it dawned on me that the Ayatollah Khomenei had been right all along when he called the United States of America "the Great Satan."
It has to make you question just what the Hell does this country stand for anymore.
I think we have forfeited -- permanently -- the right criticize any other country for what they consider acceptable conduct.
And, yes -- that means beheading people just for the hell of it, too.
It makes more sense when you realize that we don’t even have a country anymore.
And what of other “western” countries? Some had it rammed down our throats by activist judges (as in the US) some by activist politicians (e.g. the UK), and others were so perverse as to actually vote in favor of it in a referendum. Why must the USA stand out?
Socialism’s poison has been mutated across the globe. In the West, it became secular and antagonistic towards Christianity; in the Middle East, it co-opted Islam with just as virulent antipathy towards Christianity (Islamic “republics” are invariably Islamic Socialist, Iran not excluded).
Not enough sharia law enforcement, infidel killings, stonings or rapings for you Ayatollah?
The bad news is that it's only going to happen after the country is filled with Mexican Muslims.
The rest of the northern continent will face it along with us, eventually. The storm’s already popping up across the Atlantic.
