It was sobering because it dawned on me that the Ayatollah Khomenei had been right all along when he called the United States of America "the Great Satan."
It has to make you question just what the Hell does this country stand for anymore.
And what of other “western” countries? Some had it rammed down our throats by activist judges (as in the US) some by activist politicians (e.g. the UK), and others were so perverse as to actually vote in favor of it in a referendum. Why must the USA stand out?
Socialism’s poison has been mutated across the globe. In the West, it became secular and antagonistic towards Christianity; in the Middle East, it co-opted Islam with just as virulent antipathy towards Christianity (Islamic “republics” are invariably Islamic Socialist, Iran not excluded).
