Mr. Dole is the only former Republican presidential nominee who backs Mr. Trump after 2005 video
Former U.S. Sen. Bob Dole said he is standing by Donald Trump after a decade-old recording emerged in which the Republican presidential nominee speaks in crude sexual terms about women.
Mr. Dole, the Republican Partys presidential pick in 1996, is the only former GOP nominee to express support for Mr. Trump.
Reached by phone on Saturday, Mr. Dole said he had great respect for Sen. John McCain of Arizona, who said earlier in the day that he would no longer support the partys 2016 nominee....

What? That’s a shocker. Maybe ALL the GOP should be taking viagra.
Good for Dole is right!
I always liked and respected Bob Dole, even though he was more moderate than I am. I especially admired his WWII story and grueling recovery. I even drove by his house in Russell in the 1990s, and in 1996 I shook his hand (with my left hand!) at one of his rallies. This makes me think that my respect for him, a leading establishment figure or not, was justified.
I had dinner with Senator Dole at the Midwest Republican Leadership Conference when I worked for General Al Haig. Robert Novak and Lando Calrissian were also at the table. Good guys.
Didn’t expect that from Mr. Viagra. I’m pleasantly surprised.
Bob Dole, please thank Bob Dole for me!
Mybe Trump’s internals showed him way ahead, and he was using this to smoke the traitors out.
Ol’ Bob Dole is a salty ex-army dog.
Words like Trump said probably solidified in his mind that yup. Trumps a man. Said some things like that myself in my day....
I thought he wuz DAID!
Dole may have been the epitome of the GOP establishment at the time, but he has always been a patriot and a pragmatist. I’m not that surprised at his support of Trump really.
Taint Viagra with Dole. Think it penile implant about which he bragged and probably does not want brought up again. Or revived.
Bob’s campaign trail brought him through Rock Hill, SC when I was in a television production program at the little tech college.
Me and couple of others ran a camera and some other stuff. I think I got to shake his hand. It’s kind of a blur.
It was during the last phase of the program and we had to turn in a timesheet of sorts for credit. On there was what was done, where, supervisor, and any others in the class.
I put Bob’s name on the sheet along with all the other stuff. The commie instructor thought it was funny.
I’m surprised. But at his age, he doesn’t have to play by gop rules anymore.
I have met Bob Dole. I always considered him a decent man. He wasn't a strong candidate, but he was a decent man.
This is more evidence of that in my opinion.
I don’t have much use for Dole, but this is to his credit and I will remember it.
He doesn’t have much time, and this is a better way to go out.
I got a rise out of that one.
Dole should have put Buchanan on the ticket in 1996 instead of Ryan’s Kemp. But thanks, Bob, for standing firm when it would be easy for you to bail and gain greater attention.
I am pleasantly surprised and thankful.
Thank you, Mr. Dole.
