They should rename it the Galaxy Smoke.

This is misuse of the new Firestarter app!

This is why they need the big battery - to help you in survival situations.

I imagine this person was playing with their phone and thought they'd give it a try.

Every flight Mr. Mercat and I were on in our recent travels said that these had to be completely turned off. I predict that next they will not be allowed on board.

seems nearly all phones now. This morning I heard a boy in class had his Apple phone go on fire.
It is getting to the point of carrying a pigeon would be less dangerous.

An investigation of the 125 or so faulty batteries out of millions sold revealed the complainants were possible shills for a competitor.

I smell corporate dirty crap going on here.

These particular phones should be banned from planes. Samsung needs to replace them all with the previous model. This one is a failure. Samsung’s gonna have to eat them all.

While no one was injured, there is a serious problem -- the Galaxy Note 7 in question was a replacement device that had been deemed "safe" by Samsung.

Samsung will do anything to push sales, even deeming highly defective phones as "safe". As in, keep in a safe to protect your house from burning down, hopefully with no valuables inside the safe. iPhones are still safe next to the family jewels or your head. Samsung Galaxy Note 7, biggest phone disaster ever.

These phones cannot handle fast/rapid charging. the batteries get too hot too quickly in a very confined space without a heatsink, and the software controlling them is charging them at an over-fast dangerous rate. this is the issue with all li-ion batteries.
