In an unapologetically frank open letter, published to a Facebook page called Trek Against Trump, "Star Trek" actors, directors, producers, and crew members expressed their political stance that Donald Trump represents the opposite of everything "Star Trek" stands for and should not be allowed anywhere near the presidency.
"We cannot turn our backs on what is happening in the upcoming election," the letter reads. "Never has there been a presidential candidate who stands in such complete opposition to the ideals of the Star Trek universe as Donald Trump."
The letter was signed by J.J. Abrams (director of the 2009 "Star Trek" reboot), Scott Bakula (the captain from "Star Trek: Enterprise"), Eugene "Rod" Roddenberry (son of "Star Trek" creator Gene Roddenberry), many members of the late Leonard Nimoy's family, and many more.

1 person wrote the letter and the others followed like sheep as they know that liberal hollywood will punish people who fail to toe the “tolerant liberals of hollywood”.
BTW the rest do not care that one of the signers JJ Abrams films women in degrading ways on his new show called Westworld.

Initiate auto self destruct sequence.
Not anymore.
Bottom line on Star Trek: They could see centuries into the future (warp drive, phasers, transporter beams) but not 20 yrs to flat screen displays. Perhaps prognosticating a couple of years into the future isn’t a good idea for them either.
I’m only a doctor!
most if not all these buffoons can never understand the series in the first place.
Bread and Circuses of the original series would make their heads go pop.
The jjabramsverse is a joke since he has just cut and pasted bits and pieces with NOTHING original. (aka a hack)
The only thing this boneheaded ill conceived effort for relevance is to diminish the francise further.
The last two movies were weak in dollar return.
political correctness costs money at the box office and merchandising.
Nichelle Nichols (Lt. Uhura) didn’t sign.
Why are there no Moslims on Star Trek?
Because it takes place in the FUTURE!
Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley and James Doohan did not sign the letter because they are dead. Fortunately, that will not prevent them from all voting for Hillary in November. Dead people are one of the Democrats’ most reliable voting blocks.
Yep, I remember the Prime Directive, was not to interfere with the development of other cultures.
But, Kirk and the gang did some interfering, but, always with the best of intentions.
Sounds a bit like liberalism to me. Work with me here. Liberals are all about helping the downtrodden, saving the planet, etc. and at least in theory, have some great intentions for what they want to do. But in the real world, liberalism doesn’t work as planned.
Off topic, but I watched a bit of MSNBC recently, and their talking heads lamented that Obama wasn’t able to accomplish more, that in some ways he wasn’t liberal enough for them.
Obama came into office being the dream of liberals who admired the liberal president on the TV show “The West Wing”.
The real world of politics is messier than the TV world of politics. Liberals who thought the Obama presidency would go like the presidency of Martin Sheen on TV of course would be severely disappointed in Obama.
Looks like all of them went beyond where no man has gone before.
I crack me up.
5.56mm
So much for the Russians being for Trump. Ensign Chekov signed.
all of Hollywood after Trump
When trump wins, i wish at least one of these 70 would jump off a bridge.
This whole thing sounds like a cheesy secondary plot on The Big Bang Theory.
Star what???
“Neither Captain Picard or Captain Kirk signed. Doesn’t that make this a Mutiny?”
Make it so...
Note to Trekies, the “star trek” universe, is
a construct, it doesn’t exist.
Trump IS the real world, and it’s time you got
used to it, cause it’s going to be here for some
time to come.
The minute Abrams broke the TOS canon and went into the alternate timeline I got up and walked out of the movie. It was bad enough the couldn’t explain how Chekov remained an ensign for like 20 years. Time-wise Chekov would have been in kindergarten when Kirk was a young officer. The whole plot line was full of inconsistent holes.
If I was King, the next Star Trek movie would end with 'em all in a Romulan slave camp.
