Yep, I remember the Prime Directive, was not to interfere with the development of other cultures.

But, Kirk and the gang did some interfering, but, always with the best of intentions.

Sounds a bit like liberalism to me. Work with me here. Liberals are all about helping the downtrodden, saving the planet, etc. and at least in theory, have some great intentions for what they want to do. But in the real world, liberalism doesn’t work as planned.

Off topic, but I watched a bit of MSNBC recently, and their talking heads lamented that Obama wasn’t able to accomplish more, that in some ways he wasn’t liberal enough for them.

Obama came into office being the dream of liberals who admired the liberal president on the TV show “The West Wing”.

The real world of politics is messier than the TV world of politics. Liberals who thought the Obama presidency would go like the presidency of Martin Sheen on TV of course would be severely disappointed in Obama.

I remember the 1960s and when Star Trek first aired. It was when Viet Nam was just becoming an issue, everyone read The Ugly American, and The Mouse That Roared satirized stupid wars.

The Prime Directive seemed to be a statement about globalist adventures and butting in where we don't belong. Logically, that's more in line with Trump's foreign policy than it is with hillary's disasterous misadventures as Secretary of State.

Hollywood people not making any sense. That's unexpected. (sarcasm)
