First ISIS Link Found To NYC Bombing
The Daily Caller ^ | 09/21/2016 | Saagar Enjeti

Suspected New York City bomber Ahmad Khan Rahami referenced now-deceased Islamic State spokesman Abu Muhammed al-Adnani in his journal, a purported picture of the journal obtained by ABC News reveals.

The bloodstained journal clearly makes reference to seeking “guidance” from leading terrorist figures Anwar al-Awlaki and “Brother Adnani.”

Adnani rose to chief spokesman of ISIS, frequently encouraging lone wolf attacks in the West, particularly on non-believers. After the announcement of Adnani’s death, Rita Katz, of Site Intelligence group, tweeted that ISIS supporters calling for lone wolf attacks cite Adnani more than any other terrorist.

In his last public speech, Adnani advised would-be terrorists in the West that attacks on civilians were “dearer and better for us” than battlefield victories for ISIS. Rahami’s suspected domestic attack may have been inspired by Adnani’s statement. The FBI criminal complaint against Rahami notes he wrote about “attacking [non-believers] in their backyard.”

Adnani was the head of an elite special operations branch within ISIS that is creating a network of hundreds of foreign fighters who are actively planning multiple coordinated attacks across Europe.

Rahami was taken into custody Monday after a shootout with New Jersey police. Rahami was born in Afghanistan in 1988 and came to the U.S. as a young child.

Rahami’s reference to Adnani does not necessarily mean the attack was ISIS-inspired or directed. Anwar al-Awlaki was a member of al-Qaida in the Arabian peninsula, but is still seen as a reverential figure by ISIS. Rahami’s journal also made reference to Osama Bin-Laden, Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan, both of whom were affiliated with al-Qaida.

Rahami may not have even acted in the name of any one terrorist group. His journal references U.S. activity in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, and Palestine. The FBI or ABC News have not revealed any explicit declaration of faith to ISIS’s leader Abu Bakr Al-Bagdadi, which is typical of an ISIS-inspired attack.

I don’t see any reason for law officials to feel the need to connect various terrorist bombings to ISIS. The perps are obviously all connected by their religion, so they all fall under the same “jihadi” banner.

To me, it’s irrelevant whether or not they were in contact with ISIS or any other group. Try them and kill them.

I think the media tried to treat this as "no big deal" because it wasn't "international terrorism". This guy was just a "lone wolf".

From Wikipedia:

Leaderless resistance is also often well-suited to terrorist objectives. The Islamist organization Al-Qaeda provides a prototypical figurehead/leaderless cell structure. The organization itself may be pyramidal, but sympathizers who act on its pronouncements often do so spontaneously and independently.

This NYC guy is textbook. He is exactly the sort of problem we should be worried about. But I don't think Obama and the media will say that.

I don’t trust anything from the FBI anymore. You wonder only in what way are they trying to shape the narrative. For all I know, this guy works for the same people who employ Barky.

If these guys hate pigs so much,
why do so many of them have "ham" in their names?

Fact is the only decent news now is UK online.
His journal said, “attack the infidels in their backyard.”

The back yard of the chicken shack had a large ground burn mark indicating a test run.
All the family members in the 2nd and 3rd floor plus neighbors had to here the test run explosion.

I want Federal Treason charges and the death penalty by hanging.

I also want the 2 accomplices who removed the carrier for the one bomb. The feds are playing them off as 2 homeless guys who crabbed a carrier and left the bomb. Total BS, every homeless I’ve ever seen would have taken the pressure cooker too.

This just defies common sense and the citizenry aint buying it anymore. The guy acted AGAINST America, period. However - if he did not do this on behalf of an identified terrorist group then this uncovers the fact that this guy did this on behalf of islam.

All I know is my Irish ancestors emigrated in the 1840s and fought for our country on the Yankee side, my grand father came from England in 1906 and fought in WW1 for America.

These muzzies were naturalized like my ancestors yet chose to fight and kill us.

Treason and public hangings will change this.

Great points! I am second generation Irish with my Dad’s parents “off the boat - my Dad’s three brothers fought in WWII and my Dad in the Korean War. We’re talking the difference of one generation and (alleged) religion / this doesn’t happen by accident!
