CHOICES
An elderly carpenter was about to retire. He told his employer-contractor of his plans to leave the house building business and live a more leisurely life with his extended family. He would miss the paycheck, but he needed to retire. They could get by. The contractor was very sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end his career. When the carpenter finished his work and the builder came to inspect the house, the contractor handed the front door key to the carpenter. "This is your house, he said, my gift to you." What a shock! If only he had known he was building his own house, he would have done it differently. Now he had to live in the home he had built none too well. So it is with us. Sometimes we build our lives in a distracted way, reacting rather than acting, willing to put up with less than the best. At important points we may not give our best effort. Then with shock we look at the situation we have created and find that we are now living in the house we have built. If we had realized that, we would have built it differently. Think of yourself as the carpenter. Think about your house. Each day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall. Build wisely. Life is a do-it-yourself project. Your life today is the result of your attitudes and choices in the past. Your life tomorrow will be the result of your attitudes and the choices you make today.

Been chittering for a while now. Poor thing’s been lonely the past few days with Lady staying off the nest most of the time. Peaglet really ticked her off.
There are some gas stations that ran out of gas here only because our stupid governor called a state of emergency yesterday. Everyone panicked and raced to fill up. If not for that, things would be fine.
I haven’t noticed long lines at stations around here when driving to the HQ the past two days but prices have gone up a bit. Hubby filled the cars up yesterday morning, as he always does on Fridays, so we’re in good shape. He did it before the governor’s announcement so beat the price hike.

Listening to the rain fall on the Seaglet cam made me really sleepy. I didn’t get a good nap this afternoon, so I think I’d best go...you know about those church pews. How dangerous they can be. :D

The rain sounds are soothing, no doubt, but there are always those darn jets flying over to ruin the mood - - like just now. grrrrr!
I’m cracking up over Peaglet trying to fit underneath Lady. Just too funny. Can barely get its head and that cropzilla in the dry. LOL
Good night and sleep well. Don’t want any problems with those pews tomorrow! :-)

A very pleasant good Sunday morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country.
We have a line of storms with lightning and winds heading this way. Wanted to check in before they arrive. We are all hunkered down.

Good morning, E...a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Did Bo have a good hunt yesterday? He seems to be finding lots of “treasures”.
You boys have a wonderful Sunday. ((HUGS))

Howdy, EGC! (((hugs)))
Hope your storms weren’t too bad. We had some earlier in the evening...with a tornado thrown in. Not sure where it was seen.
Maybe y’all can go to the lake this afternoon or take a nice ride in the country if it’s too muddy out there. :)

Thanks LUV W. It was mainly some thunder and lightning. Luckily we didn’t lost power. The storms passed through quickly.

GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS AND OUR BELOVED NATION!

Amazing Grace (Click)
By John Newton
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see.
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed!
Through many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come; Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me, His Word my hope secures; He will my Shield and Portion be, As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease, I shall possess, within the veil, A life of joy and peace.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow, The sun forbear to shine; But God, Who called me here below, Will be forever mine.
When weve been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, Weve no less days to sing Gods praise Than when wed first begun.

DEAR LORD, who suffered torment, agony, and death upon the Cross to free our souls from the chains of iniquity, protect and defend our troops. Guide them in the performance of their duties. Strengthen them to endure hardship, danger and deprivation in Your service. Let their efforts free the people of Iraq and Afghanistan from the chains of terror and slavery, foster a lasting peace in the region, and bring all to a greater share in Your Mercy. Amen.
