CHOICES
An elderly carpenter was about to retire. He told his employer-contractor of his plans to leave the house building business and live a more leisurely life with his extended family. He would miss the paycheck, but he needed to retire. They could get by. The contractor was very sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end his career. When the carpenter finished his work and the builder came to inspect the house, the contractor handed the front door key to the carpenter. "This is your house, he said, my gift to you." What a shock! If only he had known he was building his own house, he would have done it differently. Now he had to live in the home he had built none too well. So it is with us. Sometimes we build our lives in a distracted way, reacting rather than acting, willing to put up with less than the best. At important points we may not give our best effort. Then with shock we look at the situation we have created and find that we are now living in the house we have built. If we had realized that, we would have built it differently. Think of yourself as the carpenter. Think about your house. Each day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall. Build wisely. Life is a do-it-yourself project. Your life today is the result of your attitudes and choices in the past. Your life tomorrow will be the result of your attitudes and the choices you make today.

Howdy, LUV!
YAY for your rain but boo for that tornado. Hope no one was hurt.
It was cloudy here and it drizzled a little this afternoon but that ended before I headed out. There was a lot of rain on the radar this afternoon but it fell apart before getting here. Still a slight chance for rain tonight and tomorrow but we aren’t holding our breath. I need to water the flowers Dad sent tonight because they’re VERY thirsty.

Good evening, radu...a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Did you make it thru the festival without rain? And then did it rain later to do you some good?
We had a couple hours of rain late this afternoon, and now it is very gently coming down.

Howdy, Kathy.
No rain today other than a brief drizzle. It was much cooler and that was a plus.
We could sure use some of that rain you and LUV are getting this evening but it doesn’t look to be in the cards. Catching up on all the news I missed today before going out to water flowers.
Did things finally settle down with your mom or is she still keeping you hopping?

I haven’t heard any reports of injuries or damage, so maybe it was out in a pasture somewhere. LOL!
So glad storms didn’t spoil the day! Did y’all have any interest in yard signs today?

No reports of injuries or damage sounds good. Must
have hit an open area.
It's kind of bitter-sweet. For the folks at the festival, it's good that it didn't rain but we reeeeeeeally need it.

If you don’t have the sea eagles up, you should pull up the cam now. Lady is at the nest snuggling with Peaglet and it’s the sweetest bonding moment. Peaglet is just chittering away at her. For the past few days, Lady’s stayed off the nest a lot. Peaglet copped an attitude with her over food and was not easily forgiven. LOL

I confined her to bed unless she asks to get out and I can supervise her getting to her wheel chair. I have her fed and she’s watching tv, so it is mostly quiet. She said she’s sore, and I’m not surprised.

Just got there and he’s still chattering away...and it’s raining there, too. “Mom...be the mombrella tonight please?”
Are y’all having gasoline shortages where you are? I’ve heard rumors.

Sounds like a good plan. Keeps her safe and gives you a break ...... provided she doesn’t call you every few minutes. :-)
