A pipe bomb exploded in a Jersey Shore town shortly before thousands of runners were due to take part in a charity 5K race to benefit marines and sailors, authorities said.
No injuries were reported in the blast in Seaside Park, which occurred around 9:30am Saturday.
But officials are now following up on reports of a second device in the area.

And I don't count my neighbors down the street, whose son is a student in a law enforcement program at a local college, or the guys I play b'ball with and against at local courts, and co-workers and clients who just happen to LOOK Amish. They're a different breed.
I am thankful that WHOMEVER set the bomb, was thwarted from their desired outcome, with only a poor trash can as a fatality.
Being that it happened in New Jersey, I would think that a ‘local family’ just might wish to inquire about, and hopefully, with a better outcome than any federal government agency might provide.
