Sources tell News10NBC that Assemblyman Bill Nojay has committed suicide.
Officers were called to the Riverside Cemetery on Lake Avenue around 9:20 Friday morning for reports of shots fired. Sources say Nojay, 59, was found dead due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The New York Daily News reports Nojay was at his family burial plot.
Investigator Frank Camp says officers saw a man shoot himself. At this time investigators are not making a connection to Bill Nojay. The investigation is ongoing.
We're told Nojay was supposed to turn himself in on Friday for fraud charges. According to a report from the Khmer Times of Cambodia, he and three others convinced a woman to invest in a company that would send rice to the U.S. The woman claims that eight months after sending her investment she learned the company was bankrupt.

I understand that Nojay’s dog was once taken to the kennel that is owned by the same chain that the Clinton’s use when their dog has a problem.
Nojay is no stranger to his local kennel.
The dog manicurist from the kennel Nojay frequented, had a 7th cousin who worked where the Clintons take their dog.
We called in Who-Pie Silverberg to read the minds of the dogs housed in both kennels, and evidently there was something bothering Nojay’s dog over the last few weeks.
When pressed, the dogs made it clear they think pressure was being brought to bear by the Clinton’s dog, over the regional canine ‘network’.
I wouldn’t dismiss this. The Clintons taught their dog everything they know.
Chelsea couldn’t be reached by the local dog reporters.
Her spokes canine said, “Bow wow...” for what it’s worth.
Some folks are already speculating what that meant.
The coroner completed a flash autopsy, and sure enough. Nojay had Clinton dog fleas on him at the time of his death.
Bow WOW indeed...
He was a conservative Republican.
I know I’m supposed to express compassion for the deceased, but the ones I feel sorry for are his wife and kids. He was being investigated for fraud. He was either innocent and felt aggrieved or was guilty and felt afraid; either way, he took the coward’s way out, and now his family has to pay the price.
Sorry I had never heard of him: sounds like the best NYS had.
Oh, I see, he had personal criminal matters facing him.
Most gun deaths are suicides.

So sad.
He was a great patriot.
The article says officers ‘saw a man shoot himself’.
If there was a shot fired that caused the initial police response, then presumably he fired more than one shot. Could just be a coincidence and someone else was firing a gun in the vicinity beforehand, though.
What? did he miss the first time? They need to count the used casings if there are any.
Or he was Fostered.
Oh no! He will truly be missed! May he rest in peace, and may his family find comfort.
Where is this Riverside, in NJ?
Northeast of Camden along the Delaware River.
Rochester, NY
I’m guessing he fired off a shot to get attention/have someone call the police? Or maybe he was the one that made the 911 call and there wasn’t but one shot (the one that officers saw).
Around here, a gunshot won’t rouse a call to the police at all. Right now, it’s squirrel, dove, Canada goose, and pesky varmint season!
We have an assemblyman in my neck of Western New York who is the real deal when it comes to standing up to Andrew Cuomo, Albany, and corruption (not to be redundant). David DiPietro.
#14> Cuomo is the self-styled Pol Pot of New York State. Piss him off and bad things happen to the pisser.
LOL!
