Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are in a dead heat in Texas in a new Washington Post/Survey Monkey poll out Tuesday, with Clinton’s one-point lead prompting the pollsters to reclassifying the historically deep red state a “tossup.”

This is known as 'survey self-selection' and in no way can be counted as remotely close to the truth.
We used to skew polls like this by 'Freeping' them.
Other polls, in other states, mostly have Trump/Clinton in the low 40's. The Libertarian Johnson, the Green Candidate and "undecideds" make up a near 20% in most others that I have seen.
How is it that WaPo's poll of Texas leaves almost nothing to those other categories?

I doubt Hillary will even win Travis county here in Texas. This poll is pure BS..My guess is as good as this poll, and I’m guessing Trump ahead by about 40% here in Texas..

From what I heard they did polls for all 50 states. When one organization tries a really huge undertaking like that all at once, there are bound to be some screw-ups.

The entire national poll should be diregarded.
TX is full of liberals who have thus far failed to organize well at the state level. But they are the future, and it isn’t bright.
They’re going to REALLY be surprised when their bs polls aren’t correct.
One of the SM polls a few days ago had 0 independents. It had 57.4% Democrat, 42.6% Republican and Hillary was in the lead by 6.
SM is the most obscenely disreputable polling organization, just slightly below PPP (the idiotic “polling” company that asked if people preferred Trump or Beubonic Plague).
