The Center for Choice clinic in Toledo, Ohio, was shut down in 2013 after inspectors found moldy and rusted equipment, reported the Christian Times.
The facility also violated a state regulation requiring it to have a transfer agreement with a local hospital in the event of a failed abortion. It was forced to pay a $25,000 fine as a result of the violations.
Various pro-life groups teamed up to buy the site in 2014 and plan to build Hope Park Memorial to the Unborn on the location.
The memorial is dedicated to the tragic loss of lives that occurred during that time span, the parks website reads. Over 50,000 documented abortions occurred during that span.
