When will you forgive Mel?
LOL!
It’s a movie, Ingrid.
Amen, love Mr. Caviezel.
“The Count of Monte Cristo” is one of my faves starring Mr. Caviezel.
Excellent!
I would love to see this, his appearance in the upper room, all of the Book of Acts, sounds terrific ... His ascension, everything ...
In seeing stories about Gibson following the release of “The Passion”, I have wondered if he was under assault by demons after working on that movie. I remember that he left his wife and took up with some female, and, I think, they had a child out of wedlock. (I don’t follow celebrities, so I probably saw the story here.)
Not at all shocking. Nor is the fact that it would therefore diverge from the Bible at times.
“Phew, for a second there I thought it was going to be Passion 2 - The Revenge.”
That might look something like this:
Wouldn’t that be nice.
You know, the Christian world has its own version of political correctness (PC). It excludes words/phrases like “the baptism in the Holy Spirit”, “speaking in tongues”, “health, and “wealth.” Similar to the freedom-robbing PC in society, in the Christian world, every PC exclusion are things that help a believer live a victorious, overcoming life. You don’t think Satan is behind PC both in society and the Christian world? Think again. PC is really the spirit of antichrist.
It took inspiration from artistic license but nothing in it “diverged” from Scripture. That implies it was contrary to the Word in some way it wasn’t.
With that said, to avoid the bru-ha-ha that needlessly detracted from the beauty and artistry of the Passion, largely centered around such similar criticism (that it “wasn’t based on Scripture” and similar criticism) I too would like to see it stick to “just the Bible”. There’s plenty of fantastic imagery in Scripture especially post Ressurection that would have all the CGI lovers fawning for a spot in production. (The appearance of Him in the upper room for example, not to mention the Ascension)
Hopefully just sticking to Scripture will finally have all Christians loving a film about Jesus.
And have Jim Caviezel play Him again, for consistency at least if not for the acting ability he showed in the Passion.
Maybe, but Caviezel's gotta figure out a way to be happier. People say, "I have enough problems, I don't need any more."
No, that’s Armageddon.
It’s a movie presumably depicting reality, Francis.
People believe it, even the fake parts.
Well, the Hollywood moguls made biblical movies for close to 75 years with plenty of extra added action to bring in audiences. It didn’t hurt audiences, the box office, or the religious values of believers.
If he films something based on Acts of the Apostles, there will be a lot more dialog in it. Does he plan on using original languages again? That will be a lot of subtitles for a semi-literate nation to attempt to read.
Gibson is talented and has made/acted in some great films, but he is a little weird.
It used to be a saying: Sticks and stones may break my bones, but WORDS will never hurt me.
It seems that the world has totally forgotten that saying, because every college student now needs a ‘safe space’ FROM WORDS!........................
The theater we were in, when the lights came up at the end of the credits, there were probably 30 people on their knees, praying. Tears were everywhere.
