That is unfortunate. The panhandle is mostly conservative.

The forecast track has taken a distinct turn to the north. I’m right in the bullseye as of now.....

Looks like it will wash out qualifying at Darlington, but not the race.

Hermine aimed at Tampa Bay just long enough to get the Bucs/Redskins game moved up to tonight, then veered north. It’s raining hard and there’s flooding in the area, but the winds are nowhere near gale force, much less tropical.

It’s a little difficult for me to understand. I’m looking at the Accuweather satellite loop right now and all of the weather is directly over the peninsula. There’s NOTHING in the Gulf.

I noticed they cancelled the Gators game this weekend.

The NHC graphic shows T.S. Hermine developing to a hurricane prior to landfall. It looks like four of the models have Hermine reaching hurricane strength prior to landfall (some models have Hermine growing to hurricane strength in the Atlantic). So about 10% of the models project hurricane force winds, but the NHC says that Hermine will be a hurricane. Of course, if my theory that reported windspeed = actual windspeed + 10-15 m.p.h. is accurate, the NHC will report that Hermine is a hurricane at landfall, but no land-based station will report hurricane strength winds.
